My first lure (swimbait)
along the lines of what mattlures said, if you just hang a large (like 1/0 or 2/0) hook off the front section, you could probably get by without a rear hook considering your bait is so small (as swimbaits go). that is how the "rat" baits are.

Pretty hard to tow an 18 foot boat with a bike young man! But kudos to you guys for riding everywhere. I would have a coronary if I rode down my driveway!

Stinger Hooks on MattLures?
I too, do not use stingers very often, never on the bluegill. They tend to gill hook big fish. If you really want to do it, I would recomend using sevenstrand cable (saltwater rigging product) with crimps to attach them. I think the shape of the bluegill lends to pretty high hook up percentages in the corner of the mouth on beds, and roof of the mouth on the reel.

bass care in livewell
Bighead, try this instead of fizzing. Take a 6-10 oz "torpedo" weight and tie it to 50 feet of 200lb rope. When you bring a fish up that is unable to dive back down, drop the weight into its throat. Put it in the water. The weight will overcome the added bouyancy of the over inflated air bladder and take the fish down to 30+ feet. Once at that depth the airbladder will be compressed to a normal volume. The fish will almost immediately come to life. At this point you will feel them trying to shake the weight. After a few seconds, the weight will come out and the fish will be able to swim off, right as rain. Never had one come back up.

Cool little baits. They recomend to rig them like as stated above, I prefer the non-prerigged ones, but its just a preference thing.

swim baits
Pick your poison pretty much. I know of 13+'s on the bluegill, 12's on the 6" trout, and I have seen a picture of an absolute monster with the baby bass hanging off her lip. For me, I have the most big fish confidence in the bluegill, but if I wanted the highest number of better than average fish I would throw the 6" trout. I have not used any of the east coast series, as I happen to live on the west coast, but I used to live where there were ton's of yellow perch, and when I go home to visit, I will be throwing one for bass and pike. Awesome little baits.

SOO still think a swimbait cant win a T?
Actually no, I am not. Clear Lake and the California Delta have much stronger northern genes than Florida. Clear lake is becoming rapidly more northern strain. Clear lake is over 43,000 acres, hardly a puddle. There are no trout stocking programs implemented there either. The California Delta has over 1000 miles of navigable waterways and god knows how many miles of shoreline. No trout. Oh and the fact that almost every Elite pro that spoke on stage asked the locals to " Take care of this fishery, it is THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY" But who are they to say such outlandish things? : Peeing constest: FB 2 Catt 0 Just playing with you dude! No hard feelings. I know how all y'all Texas folk are wit yer Lun Star pride!

SOO still think a swimbait cant win a T?
Yeah but 25 lbs is average for almost EVERY lake out here. When the locals fished it a couple weeks ago, the winner had 37lbs on day one and 44lbs on day two...Toledo where?!?! ;D

prototype Dobyns rods today(baitmonkey attack)
I handled them before they were on sale at the International Sportsmans Expo, and talked to Gary (dobyns) about them there as well. Absolutely awesome rods, both lines. I have always loved Lamiglas and dobyns seemed pretty cool too. I will add a rod to the arsenal, probably a medium spinning rod for finesse jigs and dartheads on light line. I think you will like them a bunch!

swim baits
Looks like a striper to me. Mattlures are pretty tough to beat, at any price, for a smaller bait!
