  1. Yeah I have never had one go that deep. It took a few tries to get it out and that was the tough part. Having to grab after you didnt rip hard enough just makes you not want to try again.
  2. Yeah it was a slow bite. Managed some bites on Jerkbaits with very long pauses between jerks 15 to 20 seconds. Picked up 3 on a watermelon shakey head in 8-10 ft fished slow. Also picked a few up on a white fluke fished like a dying shad. Last but not least caught one on a sammy. Fished all around Gravois Arm found a 100y sretch that had 51 degree water which was almost 5 degrees warmer than any other water we found. Ended up in 3rd in our club tourney.
  3. The issue is that it ended up in my hand. I am not even sure if this should be posted in this forum but if not just move it. This is what happens when your wife throws her coat on your rod with a jerkbait and you be Mr nice guy by not cutting it out and trying to pull it out.
  4. If that doesnt show the photo then I dont know WTH I am doing. and I will just leave it at that. Edit: sweet it worked.
  5. Man try having BPS and dicks within 10 minutes then the main BPS and Catalog store within 3 hours and a cabelas within 1.5 hours it makes for really long weekends
  6. Sometimes I get out of the boat and slowly swim up behind bedding bass and just hang out for a bit. I like to try and become one with the cover. When the fish lets its gaurd down I attack. I reach out as fast as possible and lip it. Then I swim it back to the boat show the guys and realease it. 60% of the time it works everytime.
  7. Tourney this weekend anyone been down since the weather has warmed up over the last couple weeks?
  8. I would give them a call and see. It is worth a shot. I was at BPS about 15 minutes before I went and they were 7.49 a piece. The Manager made it sound like Dicks got a huge shipment of them with the same SKU on each lure and they were 2.99.
  9. Baby Got Back sums it up well.
  10. I wonder why they are so cheap. Do you think they are doing away with those colors or maybe they a blemishes(even though I didn's see any)?
  11. I played with one yesterday it was the 7'2" micro guide Spinnerbait/worm. Seemed like a decent deal to me. Fairly light and all the epoxy around the guides looked good. I would say for 29.99 and not fishing it that it is a heck of a deal.
  12. Was at my local DSG and noticed the Excaliburs for 2.99. Then I looke down the isle and noticed the Xcaliburs for 2.99. All Xcaliburs were 2.99(XrK50, Xr25,Xr50,Xr75,Xcs100 and 200, poppers and EE4 Jerkbaits) in all of the real craw and real gill patterns plus their normal line up of colors. I asked the store Manager if it was correct and why they were so cheap. He had know answer for the price but said it was correct. Needless to say I spent almost 160 bucks in Dicks saturday and had to add a new piece of pegboard to the wall.First Tourney at LOZ on saturday and am glad to have a lot of new Jerkbait colors to try out.
  13. I use the Mesh type. I like the way they stretch a bit.
  14. You would have much greater success if you were around baitfish.
  15. That is love my friend. Mine is 12 I dont do a trout stamp. I also have no idea what my boat was and cannot remember if I did 5 years or 3 years.
  16. I will have to look at that, but I have an 81.5" wingspan and from a comfortable reel palm to my elbow is around 17-18 inches so finding a rod that fits the Criteria seems impossible at times.
  17. I would go for the one on a broomstick or from the Wizard of Oz.
  18. The longer the better for me in that situation. I wouldnt mind it touching my elbow(actually wish most did) so I could really slam the hook home. And The more rod touching my arm the more I have confidence in feeling every little tap.
  19. Both, I have BPS and TW Neoprene Covers and Use the Rod Glove on every Rod. I wouldnt care if I was using 25 dollars reels on 20 Dollars Rods. I would still take pride in my gear and spend the 10 bucks to get more life out of it.
  20. 1.Beaver T-Rig 2.Squarebill 3.T Rig 10" work usually Powerbait Junebug or Black and Blue 4.Spinnerbait 5.Frog 6.Buzzbait 7.Jig w/ Craw 8.C Rig SK 3x Floating Lizard 9.Walker(Spook,Sammy,Slim Dog etc) 10.Mid depth Crank
  21. Rootbeer/pumpkin/watermelon candy are some of my favorites with a PB&J jig. Sometime I like to extend the purple and use June Bug type colors.
  22. Black-n-Blue, PB&J, and Black w/ red glitter
  23. I try to approach them at about 5-10mph. I dont want to hit the bank to hard. Just kidding. Actually I try to stay a good casting distance back from the bank and fish where I feel bass will be more comfortable. What I mean byt hat is right next to some current but not in the current. The fish will hang out where there is little to no current to try and save energy but they stay close enough to current to snag a bait fish going by. But my first point of the day I start left and work right just to see what the fish are doing that day.
