  1. Gammy EWG, Trokar flip and swimbait, mustad treble.
  2. Well it is only 20 bucks. I wouldn't expect to much from it but if you are using it for spinners or cranks I'm sure it would be ok.
  3. Well they are heavy, tip-heavy, lure rating is accurate and you will want a heavier reel to help with balance. It is a nice rod though expecially for the prices they are going for right now. Go 7'3" for punching.
  4. Depends on what you are fishing. I was just mentioning it because it is a good standard. I would use that 6'3" for lots of things though I would prefer a longer rod if I was fishing deeper waters.
  5. look at the pinned post at top of the forum it should help you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130634-rod-selection-the-basics/
  6. http://bassbuzz.outdoorsfanmedia.com/br_news_article.asp?thecat=2&ID=223. I dont believe it brings pain to the fish but Injuries are different. A 3 foot drop into open water is not going to hurt a fish dropping a fish on a rock in 6 inches of water is going to injure a fish but bass are part of the animal kingdom and meant to try and survive by all means necessary if a fisherman dropping it in the water is the worst that ever happens to it then I would say it has had one fantastic life. This does not mean I just throw a fish back in the water I respect the fish and treat them like it so I release them as stress free as possible.
  7. I would not use fluoro on an A-Rig. If you do by chance have a "professional overrun" with that heavy of a bait on there go ahead and render that FC useless or kiss that bait goodbye. just my .02 though.
  8. Fishing in February. Must be nice.

    Hip Hip....
  11. Jigs use a 7/8:1 High gear ratio/higher IPT and InvisX fluoro, Cranks us a 5:1 low ration/less IPT spinnerbait and topwater I would say a standard 6:1 will work just fine.
  12. I love fishing in the rain. There is just something peaceful and relaxing about it. I have also had some of my most productive days in the rain like a 24 lb 5 Sack at LOZ last spring.
  13. I would say it would be good for T-rig soft plastics in water with less structure and for squarebills and Traps .
  14. Hurry up and box it up to send it back. They sent you the wrong brand reel! Just kidding. Congrats that is a great reel.
  15. Unscrew the cam lock screw and slide the side plate up if that doesnt work it is stuck on something. Maybe the cam lock screw is not slid over all of the way.
  16. I own several Zillions 100SHA's,100HA,100SHSA,100HSHR. You will love them. It is my favorite reel. Very reliable and has a very durable finish. You made a great decision.
  17. Q-Tip and Lure and line conditioner. If it is really bad I will use something like simple green or mean green.
  18. x2! I noticed the original post had M for the Crucial power. I would go wiht a MH unless you are using it most of the time for the spinnerbait.
  19. Does anyone know if the advantage 153HSTA sideplate will fit the H7? The setting numbers on one of my H7's are worn and found this HSTA sideplate for a great deal so I just need someone to verify compatibility or to tell me no.
  20. Why not match it with a Tatula rod? They match and balance perfectly and it is under your budget. They are really nice rods.
  21. Columbia, MO. Fish everywhere possible If you are ever shooting down 70 give me a shout.
  22. Great Job! I have been considering doing this lately since everythingelse I have had to do is done(ree/cleaning, hook sharpening/changing, box organizing, purchasing) I just really need something else to do over the next 4-6 weeks.
  23. I guess I could have added a recommendation. Not knowing what type of vegetation you are fishing most of the time I would go with a 7'3" to 7'4" H/F with a 7:1 to 8:1 ratio reel an 50-65lb 4 strand braid, if your area is really rocky or has sharp structure use 8 strand. If you are doing a lot of flipping and pitching maybe consider a 7'6" rod same reel and line.
