  1. I just cant believe how far I came with a baitcaster. From asking my brother in law how to figure one out. To learning myself. Getting proficient. Now easily skippingjigs under bushes and pitching jigs accurately. Roll casting spinnerbaits...and still workin at it
  2. Gift card to cabelas.pretty cool.
  3. Still got my beard. Lookin foward to shaving
  4. Yep happened to me too. Caught the same fish three days apart. Fish had a broken crooked tail.
  5. Me and a lot of guys at work are all doin this haha.
  6. Biggest this year from the bank was around 22" I do the same where I have a 15" mark and a 20"mark on my rods. Couldn't weigh it but it was a lil chunky and had some heft. thinkin 5lber. Personal best. on flipping jig close to the bank. Hit hard Gave me such a rush.
  7. X2 . Definatly a good line. Cant believe how little memory it has. And never had a knot Problem
  8. I like this idea a lot!!! And fishing the bank is absolutly different. Great areas you can't get from shore. Sliding down steep hills to get to the water. Worrying about rod height and hitting tree limbs. Taking undefined trails to get to a spot. Not having trails to get to a spot is a big deal. Then having to deal with ticks, snakes etc. And not being able to take everything with you. Two maaaayybbbeee three rods and A tacklebag. Plenty of differences from fishing a boat
  9. But if u don't have a flatsided one tie directly to the crankbait, to answer ur question
  10. Take the splitring off of the nose of ur crankbait. That will tighten the wobble a lil bit.
  11. Just seems like it went from very erly fall to late late fall. No prime time fall fishing.
  12. I live in pa. I agree. Its been so cold over the past couple weeks. Funny thing is last year I got to fish until the end of november.
  13. U could find a pistol grip and and make a nice zebco rod. It be around 5 foot. Then give it to a kid. My dad use to make ice fishing rods out of broken or old non usable rods.
  14. Oh heck yeah! Was killing um in the spring mostly, but still throwing them
  15. I actually get some good deals and most of my tackle from ebay
  16. Zoom chunk/jr is the way to go. Slide it all the way up the shank for a smaller profile.
  17. thanks guys, least im not the only one. I think breaking my rod put me over the edge. its sure a tough fall for me. still a lil baffled where all the fish are though. haha
  18. past couple weeks have been bad fishing wise. just seems like things aren't going my way, let me make you a list #spent about a half an hour one night learning a new knot, cool right, but having trouble. tried probably 12-15 times. finally got it and I cut the main line instead of the tag line. grr. got to do it again. practice makes perfect #tie a new leader to braid on my spinning reel. first cast get snagged on a rock break off the leader. (same day) #again using a flipping jig get stuck on a log, no biggie. I snapped the 15 # line and in doing so I put a gauge into my bait caster. wow. pretty much took 50% of my line with it. had to respool. #lost about 4 new crankbaits, 6 custom jigs, 3 custom Spinnerbaits, AND... # a spinning rod my only spinning rod broke in half. now im just ranting. after a day of getting skunked on the water I just need to. I know all this comes with the sport. just wondering if any of you share this pain. thanks
  19. I agree! I think besides rod strength line sensitivity is more important because I hold the line with my finger while I'm fishing and feel everything. Honestly the most expensive rod I have is 50 dollars. That works for me.
  20. Only bad experiance I had of tying knots the night before was my cat found the rods and chewed halfway up and i didt know it. Next day set the hook and snap. Never thought I would have to hide my rods before I go fighing
