  1. it is one of the best rods for the price, its very light and sensitive
  2. yea the only thing is that a corolla is more reliable and will last way more than a Mercedes. my corolla has 500.000+ miles and still drives like it left the dealer years ago
  3. talking about mackerel, their run is about to start, i already bought a gotcha lure and a silver spoon for them, any ways back to the subject. In Florida we don't need a leader for bass because almost every lake has vegetation here, but in other state with no vegetation and clear water, they do need it. i believe that the bigger bass do see the line in extremely clear lakes. saltwater is a must because the water is clear, the snooks are very visual.
  4. i use a waist bag, that the best way to carry your tackle, everything is right in front of you and you dont have to carry those big heavy bags that will slow you down eventually tiring you.
  5. your correct again sir, my technique is 100% braid in freshwater, here in Florida theirs vegetation everywhere, i never seen a lake or freshwater body of water that does not have vegetation, if i cast in the middle of the lake away from vegetation, and the water if clear, then i use a leader, but even then if you drop your bait to the bottom or when is a reaction bite, then you don't really need leader.
  6. you can use any pound line on your spinning reel, i have 65 pound braid and 80 pound braid on my frog and flippin spinning rod.
  7. flippin sticks have to be heavy and fast action, your flipping and pitching in extremely heavy cover and if you have a weak rod, you cant get the bass out with all that grass, and you need a longer rod to flip further and get to fish out wayy back in that cover. heavy and long rods are necessary for this technique.
  8. hey snook!!! your one or probably the most experience fisherman with extremely helpful information in this forum.
  9. jigs and drop-shot works everywhere
  10. ande mono - more world records than any other lines combines.
  11. this is my favorite one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMU4B-JzarM&list=TL4-OrwWcVKzBjWRDTbc3mPJsQUrvEG4vw
  12. get a medium heavy, with fast action, color of braid dose not matter unless is a bright color line that fish can see it in very clear water, so red or green is perfect color, and even if you dont have a leader to that 20 pound line, your chances are greater to land the fish, my best friend never use leader and he catches snook and tarpon with his bass setup. you need to be prepare because if your tring to get a bass and you get a snook on your line with a 10# pp, youll be in alot of trouble
  13. daiwa lexa, st croix mojo, abu garcia veritas and volatile rods are good, the extreme rods from basspro is my favorite, btw i suggest you use 20 pounds powerpro because you can get a big snook or tarpon in one of those canals or lake while fishing for bass and peacock
  14. my friend has it and he loves that reel most of my friends swear by quantum im starting to like them little by little
  15. oh man, you know it, for some reason im the opposite of many people and im very oldschool when it comes to everything, old cars/trucks old gear old everything, but as the great saying goes the older the better, i have friends that have ugly stiks for years with no problems but the new generation tackle will not last as much todays as the old ones, and thats kinda the reason why i buy old gear of saltwater grade gear because their bullet proof. call me weird but i prefer ugly stiks over dobyns and st croix, i dont have to worry about slamming and dropping my rod and calling my warranty service ever.
  16. look for it on ebay, i got a 580G for 125 bucks on ebay that i won off a bid. i always buy smart. if you cant find it then get the glasses 400p. one thing to remember, get the green color lens. black is for street, blue is for ocean/offshore and green is for inshore/freshwater. match the color with the same application you are doing, is a tip that alot of people are ignorant of.
  17. LOL i like his videos tho. he fishes like me, big broomstick rods, big baits and heavy lines. the hooksets are insane.
  18. i agree with 0119. ambassadeur been around probably more than a lot of baitcasters today. they are extremely reliable, and they been around for ever, people rely on them. if you want a new type of reel then get the pro qualifier, those are alot of peoples choice today, but if your oldschool like me then get the ambassadeur
  19. costas 580G green mirror glass is the best sunglasses you can buy..
