Braid to fluoro questions
I use a Medium Fast spinning rod w/ 20# braid to 10# or 8# flouro leader with no issues. Might want to switch to a lighter rod. I Use mine for Neds, Shakeys, Neko and Wacky. You just need to pop the tip to set the hook.

temperature swings

Question on brand choice
I used to use all name brand cheapo reels cause I didn't know better until I started bass fishing, and gravitated towards Lew's reels. I've been all over the place with rods having Fenwick, Wright and Mcgill, Cabellas, BPS, and Kastking. For bank fishing I use Kastking rods and reels good bang for the buck, and I don't mind getting them roughed up.

Lews Speed Spool LFS or Revo Xv4
Once you get into the Tournament MB/MP and up you get the clicking tension knob. I have an LFS for my cranking rod without the clicking tension knob, and I never had it loosen up.

Seneca Lake
@J Francho is correct, speaking to the locals they were telling me the same thing about Keuka Lake. Been back for a couple of weeks, Didn't get a chance to fish Cayuga due to weather, but that was the launch I was gonna head to when I scoped out google maps.

Lew's Mach II Reels
Oh yeah, my aluminum bodied Mach II spinning reels work flawless. I might also be biased cause I'm a Lew's reel Fan Boi...

Anyone go leaderless?
But if your dragging your jig through the rocks It could definitely weaken the braid, I think that's why they recommend using fluoro leader. Zebra muscles would definitely do a number on it.

Anyone go leaderless?
Braid isn't rock resistant as Flouro is.

Lew's Mach II Reels
To note, I have 2 Mach II spinning reels and they're great. Wanted to get a reel for one of my rods, and was interested in the Mach II BC but decided not to cause of the carbon frame so I went with the Tournament MB.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
They're going anywhere from $94 to $112 depending where your looking. I got mine from Amazon at $106. I paid $140 for my previous 2. BB1s are a good buy as well on Amazon.

Weedless search bait
He can switch to a punching set up if need be. I used to do that when I didn't have a dedicated punch rod I would switch from a frog to punching rig on the same rod without having to remove the bobber stop. Pretty sure that's not @Catt's plan though. Hmm, didn't think about that, I guess a bead would do the same thing.
