Beautiful day, water is still cold.
Same here on Sunday, me and my son went out. I got bit on a 1/4 oz VMC Shakey Head w/ a Rage Tail Menace, but lost em when he went into a brush pile. Only action for 4 hours and chilli water.

Hmm, anyone got one of these?
I had those, always needed to adjust them cause it would droop to low after a while.

Fishing rod storage for truck
I could fit my rods in the cab for it being a F150 Super Cab, but it's usually more than just me going fishing. I've been thinking about a better way to store my rods in my truck as well. Not store persay, but loading them in the truck when going from the house to a fishing spot, and back. I have a bed cover and a 6.5' bed. right now I have a 2x6 bed divider near the tail gate so its a pain laying the rods in and retrieving them without having to release the cover. There's notches in the bed near the cab which I would drop in another 2x6 this way the rods will be laying across the 2 dividers and be alot easier to lay them in and retrieving them without having to release the cover. Oh and obviously have something to secure the rods.

Kastking to be sold at Tackle Warehouse
Yeah, I don't mind them. I use their rods and reels for my bank fishing and their 2 piece rods when I'm traveling. They've been good to me. My non KK upper tier stuff (Lew's) is on the boat (which does include a few KK RL rods though). Plus their prices can't be beat when your funding your kid's fishing addiction as well.

Question for guys who fish straight floro/mono, why do you?
When I'm bank fishing and only limited to bringing three rods I do the braid to flouro or mono. In my boat I have a rod for each specific technique I use so they have straight flouro, mono or braid the exception being my spinning rod that I use for Neko/Wacky/Ned/ hard jerk baits that will get braid to Flouro because for visibility and also cause the cover changes so much when I'm throwing Neko/Ned/Wacky from grass to rock to wood or all three at the same time. Especially when I'm skipping under docks.

Going back to budget?
All my rods are between $99 and $60, and a couple that are $40 cause they were discounted from the previous mentioned prices.

Why do some bass not have a well defined lateral line?
There is this one pond I go to and the water is alway a tanic color, and the bass I catch out of there are always a bronze color similar to a small mouth. Another lake that gets a really bad algae bloom, the bass I catch out of there at that time are always pale. Another lake around the same time all the bass I catch out of there have your typical LMB green and dark markings along there sides. This is usually at summer time. Pretty sure if I go out now they'll all be pretty pasty.
