  1. I'm thinking about using a bait caster to catch a large mouth bass in Central Florida after work.
  2. OP, are you threading the line THROUGH the holes in the spool? Or are you tying it AROUND the entire spool like you would with a spinning reel?
  3. Abu Veritas 7 foot Medium with Revo SX 6.4:1 and 15# Seagur Flouro (yellow box). I have to bend the rod double to set hooks sometimes.
  4. I'm thinking about my new biggest bass. 6# 12oz, and being very happy about it.
  5. Jon boat. 12" long. 36" wide. 50# trolling motor. In the bed of my truck. On a lake or small river.
  6. Sunday I saw a few fish holding to lily pads on the bank. They were really close so I lowered a Texas rig I'm front of them and they just nipped at it. I switched to a wacky rig and got two of them. Each time they'd snap at it, swim in a circle, and stop back in the same place. Even after I caught them they went back to the same spot and stayed there. Of course they just ignored my worm then.
  7. Ish, Ike, Hite, or AMart.
  8. Hey, Bill, I don't think anyone finds you annoying. Your posts are great. Quirky for sure, but they show an honesty and awareness many sorely lack. Your post on stealth is a gem.
  9. Found this rod tote video for the DIY guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4d_jrjRPZc
  10. +1 I don't own one but these look good. https://vedavoo.com
  11. Last night I put on my Justin Moore station per a request from one of my buddies. It was fun for a bit, but I'm not going to do it regularly. I barely even listened so it was a waste. I'm more into listening to music while driving around to and from spots.
  12. It is a little pricey, but it is bullet proof. Simms is originally a fly fishing company, but has moved strongly into the world of bass fishing. I keep my scale and scent in the little side pockets that are meant as rod holders. I'll also stick a couple rods on there if I'm walking far and not around trees. I wear my pliers, scissors, and knife on my belt. http://www.basspro.com/Rapala-Pliers-and-Super-Line-Scissors-Combo-Pack/product/10203349/ - They come with a belt clip. In the back pocket I keep my head lamp and extra line. There are also 4 internal pockets - 2 long ones that can hold 2 tall boys each and 2 square ones that can hold whatever you don't need fast access to. Gloves, first aid, etc.
  13. I bank fish with these: http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/vests-packs/dry-creek-day-pack.html http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/accessories/headwaters-tackle-wallet.html - For plastics, spinner/buzz baits, and terminal tackle http://www.basspro.com/Plano-Double-Side-StowAway-Utility-Boxes/product/74077/ - For my few hard lures and frogs. I have plenty of room, but I tend to carry as little as possible without limiting myself. If I wanted I could get 3 (maybe just 2) 3700 Planos in the bag, but they'd be vertical and I'm worried the plastics would get messed up. With the wallet everything lays horizontal.
  14. Please, post more like this. I love this post. Awesome on many levels.
  15. Won't he need a boat/guide for Toho? If you're happy with banks there are tons of options in Orlando.
  16. I suspect we know the same Jason as I have heard the same stories! OP, he is also in a boat when fishing on Underhill and says bank fishing looks iffy. With that, he has said that under/between the bridges is good and he trolls cranks too.
  17. Thanks for the input! What do you think the 6.5 would be best for? And what kind of line? Same for the 7.5. I'm thinking the 7.5 would be good for frogs and top water and the 6.5 for worms and craws.
  18. I have 2 rods and one reel. I need to get a second reel. Currently I am casting a 7'6" Abu Veritas MH with an ABU SX in 6.4:1 with 30-pound braid. The other rod is a 6'6" Ugly Stick GX2 M. What other reel should I get and what rod/reel configurations should I go with? I don't want to go above the price of my current reel. It seems I'm either throwing a top water frog or a Texas rigged Senko and I'm tired of switching baits. Eventually I'm going to get a third rig, but for now I just need to figure out what my best second rig should be.
  19. I was whipping Booyah 3/16 oz spinners on my Abu Veritas 7'6" MH no problem tonight. I also use the Abu Revo SX with 30 pound braid.
  20. I originally got an SA XDM with the 3.8 inch barrel in 9mm for CC, but I thought it was too big and stopped carrying it. Today I picked up the Ruger LCP and put 50 through it out if the box. I'm not a big guy (5'9"@ ~160) and I felt completely in control of the gun emptying all 7 shots in a few seconds. It is a small gun for sure but I'm confident that I can carry it daily and control where the shots go. I couldn't say that about the XDM unfortunately.
  21. I hit the docks at Lake Baldwin Sunday morning and got a nice 18"er on my first toss. And then nothing for the next 3 hours on the Susanna/Baldwin channel. Feel free to invite me along to one of those honey holes!
