12 Lb. Lmb Caught On Pink Zebco 33.
You ever priced out one of these rigs!?! Especially after the latest run on 'em. Not to mention spooling them up with Tatsu and sending them off to get new bearings and tuning! *cough*

How To Go From Average To Pro
1. Keep a journal. EVERY time you return from the water, write down what you tried, things you learned about THAT body of water, etc. what worked? What did your electronics tell you (or try to that you couldn't decipher? 2. Review your notes. 3. On non-tourney trips, work on things that you don't do well. Hone the techniques you do well to stay sharp of course, but spend most non-money time getting better at the things you stink at. It will help you get to the point others have mentioned ... being able to catch fish anywhere and under any conditions. Full disclosure, I'm not a professional angler. Never have been. In fact I mostly suck at it. Nonetheless, I was very good at some things that very few can do. I used the methods above to get and stay that way (at least during the 27 years I spent in the military).

Fish Attractants?
I have some JJs, and used it once (so far). Otherwise, I'm usually armed with some Megastrike. I like JJs, but it is SOOO strong, that I almost can't stand having it around. Time will tell, but I am leaning toward staying with Megastrike. Regardless, I definitely like having something available to cover as much of MY scent as possible.

New Tackle Box/bag
My bag is a Plano 3700 Guide Series bag. Plenty of room, and the 3700 boxes have a ton of variants available. I also have a travel bag that is a 3600 series bag. Holds 3x3600 size boxes. When I head out, I grab my rod(s) and my travel bag. Very portable, and doesn't take much space (don't have a boat, so I am always a co-angler). BPS also ha Plano equivalent versions of these.
