You are correct, yes after a while they will associate the sounds of the trout truck as time to eat lots of trout. Ive seen it happen. Also my 10 month old bass at home have started to associate me coming home with a bag in my hand as time to eat , and they will get excited and position themselves accordingly.

Been trying to find some other good barred surf perch fishing spots in the VEntura area. Ive been fishing mostly the jetties at Pierpont and the marina park area. Wanted to know where to go north and south , exact spots.

Sailfish and Tarpon for the fight and challenge. but lately ive been loving catching Barred Sand Perch shorefishing. Seriously one of the best tasting fish i have ever had, and the best fish tacos ive ever had. Ive actually kind of become obsessed with catching them cause they're so d**n tasty.

My best fishing story for me personally. One California monday Afternoon, on a California Monday January 3rd, 2014 I was fishing on Lake Casitas at this sunken tree / old brick house foundation. I had been obsessively fishing there for almost a week straight because I had a 6lb+ break off jumping out of the water. So i cast across the structure and just let my Texas rigged missle bait sit for about 2 minutes motionless. When Bam , i had the biggest bass I knew i had ever caught , and I only had like 6lb flurocarbon on my reel. so i fight it for 5 minutes and land the thing , and immediatley fill up the livewell and motor back to the dock so i can have someone weigh it and take a photo. Ends up being 7.6lbs , my PB , and i was estatic (espeically since i'd only been fishing there for 4 months and spent the first month with zero fish. Thats the one thing about Florida hybrid bass is that they are not easy to catch at all, and I was puzzled that nothing chartreuse worked at all out here) So 2 days later on Wenesday January 5th, I go back to the same spot again, this time i'm set up on the opposite side this time in the morning. same missle bait, this time on a jig. cast across the structure and let that thing sit for about a minute, and wham!! this monster was fighting so hard i was screaming "holy **** , what the **** is this thing, somebody help me!!!" i was seriously calling out for help cause this thing was massive and nasty. I finally land the thing and i just start laughing and laughing , cause i can't believe that i had just caught another PB in the same week. Took it back to the dock, had it weighed, ended up being 8.5 lbs and that's the fish you see in the pic. I got in 2 papers that week for my catches , pretty cool.

You know what steams my clams, its the megabass hooks on the vision 110's . I hate them , i got one stuck in my thumb so bad i had to have it surgically removed. even today i just got one stuck in my thumb again

This happened on my first day with my bass tracker, and actually its happened to me about 2 times after that. something similar happeend to me when i let some girl drive my boat one day (i had only had it for a month then) and while she was driving she hit the manual button to fill up the livewell. since it was on manual , it didn't stop filling. I noticed it when the entire back of my boat was pretty much flooded and we were kind of sinking. Another good one was when i ran out of gas at the farthest part of the lake, then i used the trolling motor to get back as far as i could only to die in the water about 1/2 mile from the launch. waving my little cruddy oar at my fellow fisherman did nothing in getting them to stop and help

Ever have those days where one bad thing happens after another? What's your worst series of accidents or mishaps you have had when fishing? and what thing makes you madder than anything else when it happens fishing? mine would be the day I lost 7 shaky heads (all of them), got my line caught in my trolling motor twice, and then to top it off at the end of the day i drove over a sunken tree branch that snapped my prop shaft in half. That or the weekend i took a friends friend fishing and camping. and the guy (330lbs of him) snored so loud the first night that i slept in my car friday night. the guy slept from 7am to 4pm on my boat the entire day, and slept the entire saturday night snoring. (he had sleep apnea and narcolpsy) . needless to say that sucked. When im fishing the thing that makes me madder than hell is getting hooks stuck in my clothes, period , i hate it

If no fish got hooked then you need to either sharpen your hooks or change them out. I would second that. Ive fished from shore over at top of the dam and done really well. if you're over by the airport and walk down the hill to the water, there is an old fence line that is coming out of the water. there is really good fishing from that shore, esepcially this time of year. But from shore there you can cast into water up to 35 feet deep there. though the fishing at the new launchramps are sick because of the big depth change, and there is a tree sunk to the left of the launch dock. and again you can cast into 25 foot deep water there too. I nabbed a 6 and 7 this fall off that dock and the crew dock. I'm currently banned from the lake for 6 months (for no fricking reason, long story but i fought back and won on this whole thing) but i should be back in the middle of january (only 2 month ban) fishing from the shore till my boat gets out of quarrantine. Ive been fishing westlake lake from the shore, and boy do those fish at westlake fight like girls, they don't put up a fight at all. I caught my PB last year this date and then beat it two days later. I caught it only 15 feet from shore too.

I SECOND THAT. there is a reason go pro is the best in the industry. Go Pro silver 4 is what i just bought and when you add the "sportsmen mount' that allows you to mount the go pro to your rod, gun , bow, etc. its gold. plus the camera shoots up to 4k resolution, and you can get 120 FPS in 720 and 240 FPS in WVGA. you can set it to burst mode for pics or just as a regular old camera. PLUS you can stick the thing underwater. nuff said
