  1. I have a lot of fishing tackle and can have difficulty organizing it but as far as tackle I keep on hand, I have about 15 rods and reels along with 20 or so 3700 boxes and 6 worm binders. It's a little excessive for what I really need to just go fishing but you never know when you need that one "special" bait!!
  2. I just use a swimbait hook with a screw lock in the front. It works just like an ewg and keeps it weedless and the screw lock holds it on well.
  3. My dad had something similar to this about 5 years ago. He caught a bass, it was maybe 1.5lbs, and it had a mouse tail in its throat! It was definitely a mouse but just the tail was showing!
  4. I agree with a lot of the other posts that Strike King is the best bang for your buck. I use both the 1.5 and 2.5 and found the 1.5 catches more fish and the 2.5 catches the bigger fish.
  5. I never use rattles. I use squarebills all the time and catch plenty of fish in all conditions. I just feel the rattles can be overpowering in a lot of conditions especially when it's giving off plenty of sound with hitting cover.
  6. I agree. To me it seems like it would be difficult especially if you're not experienced.
  7. Like others have said, I use a regular school backpack from Walmart and it works great.
  8. My best producing is the old Strike King popper, the Spit-N-King. My two best colors are Green Gizzard Shad (clear water) and Sexy Shad (stained water).
  9. Use a Texas rigged tube! They work amazing for deep fishing cover such as trees.
  10. I have a squarebill and haven't noticed any benefit to it over my other squarebills. Now it just sits in my extra lure box in my garage.
  11. That's a great rod. I have that same rod and it is truly an all around rod. Mine is technique specific for topwaters. It also works great for flukes and weightless senkos.
  12. Awesome! Thanks everyone for the information!
  13. Most Topwater baits don't come with split rings but I was wondering if anyone puts split rings on them? I mainly use spook type and popper topwater baits and was wondering if the split ring had any benefit to them? Thanks!
  14. I also use a bobber stopper. Really cheap and easy way to fix that problem.
  15. St. Croix just redid their Mojo rods and upgraded the graphite in them. They now are made with the same material as the Avid series (SCIII graphite) and are much more sensitive as well as stronger than they were before. Price only went up $10-20 but it is very much worth the upgrade.
  16. Weightless senko or weightless fluke are my best producers on docks. Occasionally I'll throw a jig but prefer to throw the weightless stuff.
  17. For my I can't seem to catch anything on a crankbait bigger than a Strike King 5xd. I've even fished places like KY lake and still can't catch fish on bigger than a 5xd.
  18. I guess you could say I got a few Strike King baits...
  19. Sorry I missed that. But Mojo Glass does have a Squarebill specific rod that would work amazing for that application as well. It's a 6'10" MM. The normal cranking rod would work as well just as good and is a 7'4" MM. Both rods are great and the comparisons I accidentally made work good to show what both the rods can handle
  20. An absolutely great rod at about 120-130 is the St. Croix Mojo Bass Glass cranking rods. Glass is a lot more suited for crankbaits than graphite and the rods have a true moderate action. I can throw anything from a Series 3 up to a 6xd on mine and I love it.
  21. Welcome to the site! My pick would be a St. Croix Triumph casting 7ft Medium Fast. I'd pair it with a Pflueger Echelon and you'll be set. It totals at 160 but you definitely get what you pay for.
  22. I'm pretty much a SK and St. Croix junkie so I'll definitely be getting some stuff. I'm really looking forward to the Tungsten Two Taps and especially the swinging swim jig and buzzbait! I'm also definitely getting one of the new Legend Elites. Hopefully I don't end up too broke when the product comes out!
  23. I love throwing them around rocks because that gets them to deflect the hardest and that's when I get the strikes. I also throw them a lot around wood and that can work amazing as well.
