  1. Thank you sir, I appreciate the input. I will try that.
  2. Hello everyone. My buddy and I are in a pretty big jam. We are fishing the FLW College National Championship on Wheeler at the end of the month, and my boat is in the shop currently for some fixes on the engine, and it will not be ready in time for the National Championship. This is the biggest tournament either of us have the opportunity to be involved in, because as of now we do not have a boat to fish off of, even after asking just about every contact we have up in our neck of the woods(Michigan). It may be a shot in the dark, but is there anyone on the forum here who may let us run their boat from May 25-June 2? Or does anyone know someone who might? I am well aware beggars can't be choosers, but if the boat had half way decent electronics we would greatly appreciate it, because we are used to running water where you would have to try to bottom out a boat. Feel free to call or text me. (734)-751-8035, thanks guys.
  3. HoosierHawgs started following agilmorefishing
  4. I spent a lot of time fishing on Intermediate, however I never got over to Torch, or Skegemog. Both are lakes I will need to be making stops at, I know about the quality in Skegemog. What about Torch?
  5. I would recommend registering ASAP, because tournaments will fill up quick and you will get wait listed. BFL's are true Pro-Am's, and the only obstacle is drawing a boater who is unfamiliar with the body of water, or front end's you.
  6. Awesome! I'm itching to get back out on the big water, and catch em' like that!
  7. Michigan is somewhat underrated as far as fishing! Love some Lake St. Clair, as well as Grand & Long Lake in Alpena. I used to do a lot of fishing over near Traverse City, but haven't made it over there in quite sometime. Anyone fished the torch chain in recent years?
  8. Your electronics don't lie! The top picture is showing fish that you were either idling over, or they were moving themselves, arches are fish moving in/out of your sonars range. I'm assuming the second picture you were stationary. It is hard to tell what these fish are, bass don't necessarily group together but they will stay in the same general water column, especially when feeding. This could be any kind of fish, however crappie will definitely stack straight up and cover a pretty big column of water(i.e. 5ft-15ft). Odds are you are looking at bass, or something else that may school in that body of water.
  9. Cover water. Our natural lakes in michigan don't have much contour, so a 1ft drop can be a big deal. If you have the ability to know whats below you I would start on the first structure off the first drop, weed clumps, stumps, etc. Otherwise get on a bank and go.
  10. Every waypoint i drop where i caught a fish i mark it with an abbreviation of the lure/date. So for instance, Dropshot on May the 4th, DS504. Whenever I travel to tournaments I have a book that when I get home I write down the conditions and go back through and take notes on each waypoint, so if I ever go back I'll know if that spot will be a player or not. I can actually remember specific CASTS on certain docks on Kentucky Lake, verbatim, because of the log. So they definitely work!
  11. You're going to have to be hitting bottom with a crank bait.
  12. depends what you are fishing for, where you are fishing, etc. Fish generally relate to structure and are either caught super deep or super shallow. They don't roam in these types of conditions, normally. If you know where structure is, fish it thoroughly. If not, fish the obvious.
  13. Awesome, I appreciate all the info guys.
  14. Whats your favorite dock/piling bait/technique? Looking to try some new stuff.
  15. I have a tournament on the Chesapeake Bay in mid September, I've never seen it before. Any information that could help me would be great appreciated it. Please Personal Message me. Thanks!
