lake i have never fished

Featured Replies

i have a tournament on sunday and i have never fished this lake. This lake is extremely shallow, the max depth is 25 feet. This lake is all stumps, i don't really know how to fish this lake, any pointers.

spinner baits and cranks will catch you the active fish then pick apart the best areas with plastics

Sounds like lakes I fish . Wear polarized glasses and cast at dark spots .

Cover water. Our natural lakes in michigan don't have much contour, so a 1ft drop can be a big deal. If you have the ability to know whats below you I would start on the first structure off the first drop, weed clumps, stumps, etc. Otherwise get on a bank and go.

Fish what you have confidence in. During a tournament is no time to be trying to learn a new technique. I'm guessing you'll probably have fish either near spawning or spawning in your area. I would probably cover water in spawning pockets with a spinnerbait or squarebill and be ready to follow up on fish swatting at the bait (defensive/protective strikes), with a T rig or Senko.
