I would just try and save up $75 for dollars and then get a decent rod and reel in the $100 price range. Tons of options in that price range.

My Walmarts idea of clearance is marking items down .50c and marking rods down $5.........

This winter I bought a Denali Jadewood custom crankbait rod and paired it with a lews speed spool 5:4:1 gear ratio(23 ipt). I was going to use this set up as my all around crankbait setup. I've been doing some reading and read people like to use 6:1 or higher gear ratio reels with lipless crankbaits. do i need to get a seperate set up for lipless cranks or will my 5:4:1 work?

What other rods around that price range make good frog rods just out of curiosity?

Which rod out of the Jadewood or Kovert series would make the best frog rod? Ive even been eyeing the Deanli-5x3 rod.

I would think mono would be better for suspending jerkbaits since fluoro sinks but like others have said KVD likes to use fluoro........

Yep! Since you already have some of them then I would go with jigs for all the reasons stated above.

You should try a bladed swim jig. When i started to really get into bass fishing a few years back that's probably the lure I used the most.
