Pretty much this^^ although I haven't used the micro braid, I have seriously considered the Stradic in ci4+ that is capable of the micro line.

Well, hmm.. Don't despair, use it up and decide for yourself, but all indications seem to suggest a inferior line type.

Over spooled, or a hard line causing it to spring off.. Try and remove a bit and see if that doesn't improve the situation.

I understand your Mathematica, but, what would we ( most ) fisherman refer to 6' of the deepest or deepest most shallow part of a pond or small lake? The shallow deep, or the deeper shallow ?

Depth is a relative term to the body of water being discussed. Bottom line, if 6 feet is max depth, then it is considered "deep" as it applies to fishing. Or for that matter, discussions concerning fishing, lol..

I dropped Daiwa in 08, not because they are bad reels, because the QC stank.. 40% of my brand new purchase's were defective.. I just got fed up with it, I use Shimano with great results, I still like Daiwa though, probably always will..

My Daiwa's all had brake shoes, I believe if you look at your spools & pull on the inductor you will notice them.. As I recall this is a overlooked part of Daiwa's design. They work on centrifugal forces, however they are not pins, perhaps someone with more exacting information will add in... You can't turn them off and on.. You can adjust the magnetic braking. I might add, all my Daiwa's were free floating spool designs..

Hard jerks baits, as in pointers, I use #8 Senkos, #6 all the way to #20 depending on size, rigging method & cover type as well as having a general understanding of the ( bass ) size potential of the water I'm fishing..Cover probably trumps all other considerations, ultimately

Rods are made in China, trucked to the coast of, loaded on ships, sail across the oceans, unloaded on west coast, USA .. Trucked all over, sent to distribution centers and sent out again... Rods have traveled thousands of miles, bumped, banged, clanged. All before ever being put into the hand of the angler... It ain't the fisherman!

I never have to back off my cast control to close it. The nipple alignment and spring locking device have a slight resistance on closing, but once your aligned and snap the cover shut it auto locks.. I've heard someone once say they had to back off the cast control to seat the cover, but I'm at a loss on as to why..

Got to around 60* in south Ind. poor Wisconsin though, I heard they got a foot of snow!

I tried it in the early 90's and it was horrible on knot breaks... I believe it was the dye.. It just seemed terribly brittle..

Easy now... Their are two alignment pins on the brake side, ( frame ) ensure you look at alignment then it will go easily..

Oil your brake drum. That should solve it.

That's titanium deposition coating, correct? I love those coatings.. I know they do hold/show fingerprints / oil but I feel like on the northern lights finish you wouldn't notice them.. It's a sweet looking reel no doubt!

Doug Hannon proved that "Large" largemouth bass would hit a plastic worm over, and over again.. Apparently never able to realize it had ever been a fake, however, hard baits like crankbaits and such were mostly always rejected, after having fooled the fish once, What does this mean? I guess using soft plastic is a excellent bait to rely on if you are at all concerned with educating Fish! Lol..of course that was his conclusion. I'd say he caught a few over 10 pounds in his life.. Approaching 1000 as I recall..

Exactly.. Seems folks with the issues are new plug throwers that haven't learned reel setup.. I have 0 issues casting, retrieving or anything with the "I" series myself. It is a higher performance reel in the casting department and braking control dept. as well in my opinion..
