  1. Return it now, is my advice
  2. Mono can do ANY thing the fisherman needs it to do... It's worked just fine for decades in Saltwater & Freshwater...
  3. "If a man were to know the end of this day's business 'ere it come. But it suffices that the day will end and then the end be known. And if we meet again, well then we'll smile. And if not, then this parting was well made" Gene Hackman paraphrasing J.C. in the movie "Uncommon Valor"
  4. I have around 25,000 yards or so.
  5. Mr. Dahlberg is a great fisherman & a great host. Love his shows, the best on cable!
  6. Me too, I like to nose hook them, the spinning rod also allows me to pop that fluke just right, lol
  7. Pitching these baits can be learned with practice. (BC rods & reels...) I use spinning for the fluke. Add a swivel to help keep twist down, I use co- poly line and medium to medium heavy spinning rods..
  8. Truly, lol, sometimes I need a dose myself!
  9. The spool and handle are double anodized on the Chronarch, the dragstar is plastic on the Chronarch 200E vs. metal on the Curado 200E, and the drag on the Chronarch 200E is "dartanium II" vs the Curado's Dartanium (they spec the same). I felt like the Chronarch was a tighter reel as well, that's debatable as copy's do vary.. I prefer the Curado "color shift green" over the Chronarch E as well.. That's about it..
  10. Perhaps your drag pads are wet with lube..
  11. Your on the right track now, line dig won't be near the issue that 20 is... I'm not a fan of braid but many, many are... Then when casting improves, turn off 2 of those brakes! Use a softer braid like 832 unless you already have braid then go for it.
  12. Patience.. If ice on top, then just keep visiting the pond.. It will take off, meanwhile try downsizing your jig, use a hair jig, continue to visit it, fish other locations. It will happen..
  13. I'm thinking your braid size is too small. I use the "I", as well as a *** heavy rod.. I have 2 internal on I also do not use braid.. Have you used 20 on a casting reel in the past? Now, bare with me, you are certain the brakes are set to on? I have seen a case where a fellow mistakenly had his brakes all turned off. I'm only trying to assist you & in no way trying to insult you...
  14. What's your setup? ( rod & bait) what line? Also, how many internal brakes on?
  15. They are not the "exact same reel" very close though..
  16. If you are hard on the digitals, then by all means, get a solid mechanical scale.. It may be more expensive up front but it should last years & years along with great accuracy.
  17. 3d steel finishing nail
  18. Oil that brass drum inside, lightly..
  19. Kryptonite & plutonium ? Are you writing a sci fi? Lol, maybe reading one?
  20. Ok, so exactly what hook & maker? Try a owner beast hook w cps
  21. Wow! Wisconsin slipped a bit and gave the game back to duke.. Hmm, NFL anyone?
  22. Above all, please know who your future wife may present herself as, however, there are never any guarantees. In the grand scheme of things, fishing related issues rank pretty low in my opinion..
  23. Hmm, not sure this is a "reel" problem, lol. I'm thinking maybe it's just your braided line?
  24. I won't get into the politics of various country's of manufacture, however the Daiwa Ex Ballistic is a good looking option & one I'm currently debating, I own many Daiwa and Shimano as well as a pflueger president 6935. I like them all just fine!
  25. I give it a easy 6lb mark.. Nice thick fish.. Nice and healthy in appearance..
