  1. You have asked this 3 times over a weeks time. My question is this, why? Several respected members have attempted to help with your decision, seems no answer has been suitable thus far.
  2. Geez, no love for the Cincinnati Reds? Go Big Red Machine!!
  3. Interesting, while on standby duty aboard USS Nimitz, @ St.Thomas,V.I. We left around 1500 sailors on the beach. Cuba had taken a coast guard vessel that apparently broke down, drifting into Cuban waters.. I suppose they thought they would take it hostage, Uh, not under our watch! We steamed & were loading Phenix missiles & sidewinders while in port! F-14's were ready one mile outta port.. We sent a small attack force. Cuba released the vessel quite quickly.. We were back in port in a few short hours. Reagan didn't play.
  4. It's likely line twist, introduced during spooling.
  5. I couldn't agree more, it is very hazardous, I've done it on Lochloosa before, and it's not just the snakes, and alligators, but poachers.. Real dangerous in the whole of the 80's era...
  6. Yea, you make a great point, however, based on what I hear about California & the drought, and the action your Gov. Has taken yet again on water useage, it may well be a mondane point.. They may take your water for the lettuce farms. Geez, looks & sounds horrific, saw pics today. All I can say is wow.. Best of luck to you all!
  7. Ok, DNR, checks a license, ask about fish, moves his boat off the ramp due to a unforeseen delay, and suddenly he is exceptional? Like I said, he is doing what he is sworn to do.
  8. Sounds like he was just doing his job, I don't give props for that.
  9. FC is not the line to learn on. Use a 12 to 15 mono... Use a 3/4 bank, bell, or some other type of weight.. Start conservative, as you gain confidence you can tweak your reel and reduce your weight, with practice you will be able to toss 3/16 easily..
  10. Hawgtech! They got what you want in carbon fiber, w a couple grip options, color anodized dress up parts, I use em. Awesome handles ...
  11. Come on down, you might like it, then again.. You may not, lol..
  12. Don't know much about the line, but I did notice The rage baits hanging in the corners! Nice choice..
  13. Yes they can, Going to be a awesome game at Indianapolis..
  14. Wow! Smart guy, and a bit lucky.. Neat story!
  15. LOL^^ About the only thing that gets better in middle age, is the true acceptance that life is anything but fair..
  16. Flip the jig, muck bottoms suck for jigs, try a 1/4 oz Florida rig with a soft plastic for better results In hydrilla. Pitching Jigs to Cypress trees base's can be great as well.
  17. vincit omnia veritas truth conquers all things. Or... in vino veritas in wine there is truth. lol..
  18. There are many, many sizes. If those are the Gammys w nylon weed guard, I didn't care for those. I have never broke a owner mosquito, never bent one either.. For me, the best is owner. But I would encourage you to try a hook you like, A brand you trust and go from there..
  19. There are many choices, my favorite are Owner Mosquito in 1/0 to 3/0 I also like the ssw which is Just the owner hook w the cutting point..
  20. Absolutely! My favorite method of using a wacky Rigged senko or trick worm this time of year.
  21. If using nylon or FC I would rather re-tie my knots But if using braid, what Dwight said makes perfect Sense. It will really help with line twist ( swivel )
  22. Personally, I couldn't get rid of my Abu's fast enough, I don't care if a reel is capable of a 50 year lifespan.. You don't hear me and other Shimano & Daiwa fans trashing out those reels.. If you notice, the Disgruntled Shimano ex-users.. The theme is to just insistently bash Shimano on this Site.. Seems like trolling to me, having a opinion is one thing, interjecting the same old rhetoric has little purpose. I'm sorry Shimano failed to meet your expectations, sounds like Abu's are your go to reels. Great, I don't see a problem, except you try and create one. Always. Get over it and move on..
  23. While I understand your point of view, especially on Largemouth being caught and kept, you have to remember that ANY legal license holder has the right to fish & keep the catch in accordance with the laws of the state they are fishing in. It's just a fact. One, that all of us have to understand and comply with..
