  1. I don't know for sure, is that what is called a lake trout? Or ?
  2. Mine cast like a RPG... They are extremely long casters with 2 brakes on... Maybe oil the raceway clean with qtip... Idk... Seems like more complaints now that the leftys are getting into the market now, well good luck guy!
  3. Not to mention trying brand new reels that are questionable to begin with, using in rain only complicates the overall analysis
  4. It's a game we played growing up, follow the leader
  5. Nooo, you didn't waste you're money, if that's what you can afford or just have for now, you can catch fish with it... Of course the sky is the limit on fishing gear.... Maybe later upgrade or now... Either way... You can fish and enjoy it with you're gear. At any rate good luck & enjoy
  6. I think smaller LMB ... Tend to hit a really fast moving topwater bait to Kill/ stun the prey, then they are again looking to eat it after that hard initial closed mouth strike/ swipe or whatever one may call it... No doubt my biggest topwater bass in Florida was a extremely quite slurp! I couldn't believe it but its true ... Or so it seems based on plenty of other folks experience too...
  7. They work fine for many techniques, also very durable rod blank, weakness probably in guides or reel seat.... But you can live bait, dead bait, crankbait, spinnerbaits.... You can get by with it, but there are also a lot better choices for certain other tactics...
  8. Quiet water entry, then just wait... Give that bait a whole 1 minute allowing the rings of water displacement to reverberate the area... I love throwing handmade cedar dual prop topwaters... I have had and caught some amazing fish/ strikes 30 min before sunrise... Just before daylight is my sweet time for topwater! Good luck! Have fun!
  9. 3" to 5" senkos or Trick Stixs 4" plastic worm to 12" Jig w/ rage craw Jackall Tn 60 & 70
  10. I want a tooth outta that Bigfoot!!!
  11. Plus I might add if it's caught on a shimano! They taste even better!! Lol.....
  12. I used a 6 but a 3 w would really make it a battle! I saw Roland M. Catch a over 10 on the big o in about 80...I really enjoyed catching bluegills with it... But my 6 weights were overpowering to me.(for gills & average bass) my opinion only... Good luck...
  13. Exactly, Exactly.... At the Ramp... Yep... Pretty sad...
  14. Do you have a state record? What fish?
  15. Plus haven't heard from him about the issue in a bit either....(OP)
  16. Blue gill & crappie... Sea Bass & Barracuda
  17. Bps has a cranking rod a lot of folks like, it's in you're price range....
  18. I use a 7' kistler original helium lta , medium fast And a pfluger pres. 6935 8pd silver thread, open hook rigging, sometimes with a weed guard. 3" tubes mostly for SM...a lot of different rods and reels of all prices will do the job.
  19. Yes I am afraid so..... Also good to lock, yes, but a lock will slow it down. I got a story but it's too long but I was jacked bad.
  20. Lol!!! Hang tuff- you're due for a break after all that waiting on the leftys!!
  21. That's good Chris, good, fresh line is important. Good luck getting you're braided line, post you're questions and share you're experiences in the Forums, once again, Welcome!
  22. Nicely done A-jay, nicely done...
  23. The smoothness factor is quite nice on mine, hummm, I don't know, I guess it's like the whole Rod Debate on Sensitivity thing, Feel and Smooth I guess are both subjective.
  24. Behold, to you're state laws!
