  1. Thanks Tom, I’ll give that a try and see. I hope it works.
  2. 4 weeks ago I bought my Vanford 2500 S from Japan it was $165 Asian Portal
  3. Hey guys, I’m posting here because I know you rod builders will likely have a solution. The rod itself I like pretty well, it has good titanium sic guides, it’s light, it’s pretty sensitive, has daiwa’s regular bend. But the grip, it’s slick, I mean slick. I’m not sure why it’s so slippery but I’m searching for a solution.. Any ideals ?
  4. That’s my thought too, I understand the theory behind braid to leader but I just use Yozuri or fluorocarbon. Full spools.. my Shimano reels are not line hogs at all so going full FC isn’t expensive really..
  5. Are you using straight braid in that tannic water? Seems like the way to go, I’m still using Yozuri Hybrid down in Florida when I go.. when I lived there in the 80’s there was only mono, believe me, I’ve had a few heartbreaking line breaks with mono.
  6. What’s so special about that line?
  7. Absolutely, I went thru a tractor trailer, defensive driving course in about 1991, it’s stuck with me all these years.. it’s good stuff. It should make them think differently.. I agree with your assessment.
  8. No you’re right therefore it’s not a soapbox. The rigs are incredibly powerful and the youth haven’t conquered this power. This is nation wide on any body of water (within State guidelines) my Skeeter with a Yamaha 150 was plenty powerful and fast.. I rarely needed to run it full throttle..I watched these elite series fisherman and they are sorely lacking in boat handling skills and frankly even casting skills.. the best days of BASS are behind us now and the waters became ridiculously busy and ultimately that’s why I sold my boat.. I still go to Kentucky lake some but it’s during the week. I’d just about rather saltwater fish anymore 🤣
  9. Yes, that is what he said. Something is up here, either the motors are overpowered or the boat can’t handle the power/torque. I don’t know what’s up
  10. Wow, Trey blew it.. I guess he’s learned a hard lesson. Appreciate it, you posting this.
  11. Who’s leading AOY?
  12. Right. I mean to say that FFS has still been pretty dominant thruout the season and it certainly will be on the St. Lawrence. I’m still in the OG era but man, having FFS would have been pretty awesome when I had my big boat. Watching Scott Martin find those bedding bass on his home lake. That made me a believer in it. You can’t see the submerged and dying hydrilla thru tannic water nor the beds, I know I lived there for several years. But it’s just the now, (FFS) and the future. It’s change & it always happens.
  13. Well they have pretty much all year, this tournament wasn’t so different, Johnston, Gee, pretty much the entirety the top ten. But hats off to Ed, he was close on Harris? Then coming off a two tournament miss because of kidney stones. Pretty amazing, top 3 separated by 1 oz each place. That’s pretty crazy. So whose AOY leader today? Johnston? Hamner?
  14. You ain’t kidding 🤣😂🤣
  15. Yay! The old dude wins 😂🤣😂
  16. Yep it’s all the time, always during weigh in.. need to fire some folks.
  17. I know it’s counterintuitive but I’ve often wondered if a seatbelt would be helpful.. on these boats that rarely capsize.. but idk.. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/NGrPWRpogXFWkrKA/? I can’t narrow it down anymore than that..
  18. ALFC has just listed Shimano Vanford @ 25% off if anyone cares ..
  19. Thanks, always something interesting to learn on BR..
  20. Why is that I wonder? Why can’t they reproduce?
  21. I remember when the state of Indiana put in Tiger musky I think in Patoka res. In the late 70’s they grew quite large and a lot of people caught them. The lake opened up in 1980. Thankfully they couldn’t reproduce and after about 10 years you never heard about them anymore..
  22. Seth is in 10th Zaldain is 6th Brothers Johnston are 1 and 4 Swindle just caught a 4 pounder and is 26th Trey is 23rd. Zaldain back in the lead.
  23. Steve Kennedy is so funny, I love the dude, I swear he just keeps saying I’m not sure I haven’t been paying attention! He’s said it like 3 or 4 times in like 10 minutes 😂🤣😂 truthfully he’s probably my favorite fisherman on the tour. He’s just a positive fisherman and the absolute polar opposite of Ike .
  24. Kinda curious, how did you and your partner reconcile the boat and trailer?
  25. Yes I certainly do, rather than trying to explain it I will say that experience matters.. prior experience matters..
