  1. Still no refund on my account as of today Still watching for it.
  2. Good luck and post some pictures whenever you can!! That's a beautiful elk in that top picture.. they are thriving in Kentucky too!
  3. Right. I’ve never had a issue either but wanted to make a statement about the overcharge in the event it was a glitch or something..
  4. They answered quickly and stated they would refund me promptly. I’ll update as it goes.. Like I said just wanted to tip you guys off in case….. I ordered some Geecrack bellows shad from Omni about two weeks ago on a Friday afternoon and had them on Monday! First time I’ve used them but I’m going to start giving them business in the future..
  5. Watch your Tacklewarehouse invoices, I made an order and they overcharged my bank.. I took screenshots of my original order and my bank invoice, sent it via email this morning and they immediately responded with a apology and a refunded difference plus a GLX rod 🤣 ok the GLX rod part is me being goofy but the rest absolutely happened. They split my order between 2 warehouses and charged me twice for shipping. So there ya go..
  6. Maybe. I have a Grappler that comes apart at the handle. It’s a saltwater rod.
  7. The Bantam is absolutely solid. I have a 6.2:1and 8.0:1 new this year. I also bought 2 new Metaniums, the 100 sized and the 22 model with aluminum drive gear and shallow spool. I’m very happy with these reel selections. I think you will be too. Edit: I just looked and my Bantam It is a 8.1:1 ratio. Same with the Met shallow spool edition. The other Met 100 is 7.0:1
  8. I fish GLX rods, I fish Edge rods. The build quality is excellent. It’s traditional and all that is needed. I also fish Kistler rods.. I can afford NRX+ rods but I don’t need them. My rods offer everything I need and I can feel everything. I even have one OG Zillion rod that’s has very good feel and cast ability. . I don’t care what anyone chooses but to say Loomis GLX rods aren’t worthy is preposterous.
  9. My advice is to study late summer and fall patterns on I assume Largemouth Bass. In fact there is no shortage of readable information right here on BR. No spawning now, not as far as LMB are concerned. Keep flicking that fluke and read and learn. Your questions are valid, however whole books have been published on the largemouth bass and all of the various behaviors and strategies involved with the sport.
  10. Well I gave your advice a go.. it added just enough texture to keep the rod from rotating/slipping in my hand. I actually used a fingernail file lol But it worked.
  11. 🤫 don’t be talking about how awesome tubes still are! 🤣🤣🤣 You wouldn’t have a link would ya? congrats on having success!
  12. Interesting thread for sure. For me it’s simplicity at its finest. Horizontal presentation and vertical presentation. Folks do well in the early spring with horizontal techniques because of warming waters, longer days & spawning cues. Fish are active and eager to feed. Pretty simple huh? Bedding fish are where a vertical presentation works well, males defending with females preparing to deposit eggs. Rocks and rocky shoreline absorbs heat and is home to crawfish etc. pulling in fish for both warmth and feeding opportunities. When fish are done with spawning and begin moving offshore is where it gets tougher. Carolina rigs, heavy jigs/trailers and Texas rigged worms get it done as well as deep diving crank baits. A rising lake level with flooded vegetation/wood makes for awesome flipping and pitching. In a nutshell, my philosophy isn’t really philosophical, it’s based off of nature itself and the predictive, known behavior of LMB. On top of this the FSLMB is wholly different from the NSLMB.. smallmouth? I catch them on accident 🤣 I get into them sometimes here on a small river or sometimes on Kentucky lake. I like their aggressive behavior.. if you wanna talk smallmouth on this board, ask AJay, he’s the Hammer of smallmouths 😂 If I only had 1 bait to live or die by, it will absolutely be a Texas rigged plastic worm, and it wouldn’t be a disadvantage at all. Larry Nixon is the Man.
  13. I’ve bought a few in excellent condition, I’d say it was a close rating. But the shipping out of Evansville is horrific. Not ALFC’s fault I've had 5 rods delivered completely broke in two but only actually breaking one rod. However 4 of those were Loomis rods this year alone. If you do/should have any difficulty, call them rather than doing emails. Sometimes I will drive there with my son to trade rods in, no way will I risk my rods mailing.. it’s also why I don’t sell my rods online requiring shipping. I live about 90 miles from them.
  14. Oops. Stren 16# clear/blue 🤪
  15. I’m with AJay on his rig, with all those Christmas trees in there, heavy line and a strong hook and just probe those bad boys. I’m thinking it will be worth the effort.
  16. One of my favorite observations was in Rosevelt Rhodes Puerto Rico. After maintaining Aircraft, I was down on the moorings (WW2 built) and it was just dark, there was light but relatively dim, as I drank a screwdriver I watched a huge ball of shrimp move in, in essence they were trapped, then Tarpon appeared easily 50 pounders, and began a feeding frenzy.. Some of us (a very few) had brought rods n reels as well as deep fryers, woks etc. our schedules were typically 2 days on 2 days off, then we would fish for snapper and yellow tail etc then fish fry. This was during the day. Then the Tarpon observations happened, I asked my buddy you have anything that looks like a shrimp? He laughed and said hell no, I had some grubs in chartreuse and jig heads and said let’s try! So we did, I stuck one and fought him for maybe a minute and broke off.. he caught a Mauri eel which was pretty freaking cool but we fished that place for 5 nights, every night was the same, tarpon pushing in shrimp, occasionally we would stick a Tarpon but only to break off. Nonetheless we were and did have a complete blast with it. We caught several hundred yellow tail, red snapper along with juvenile Barracuda. Barracuda is actually very tasty. I went there a dozen times and always enjoyed the fishing..
  17. There was a study done many years ago talking about the sound that mono made as it came thru the water. It was years ago, but the jest of it was that 10 pound and below made the least amount of noise and above 10 made the most. Whether that matters or not I can not say..
  18. I use CXX in clear blue fluorescent and CX in the same. I use clear Yozuri I use green CX, I use green fluorescent by both Pline and Yozuri. No braid here.. I think a bigger issue is the amount of fishing pressure like @gimruis alludes to..
  19. Glad that Loomis made good on the warranty side of things..
  20. That’s a long fish. Weight?
  21. Here goes the 10,000$ questions. Anyone, anywhere, know the weight of this rascal? I own this and even at its extra heavy rating it’s still a pretty light rod. But heavy enough to make me curious. Also does anyone know what the difference is in a MBR and an extra heavy GLX? I’m thinking the MBR might use glass reinforcement in the butt section but it’s just a guess.
  22. Dude, saltwater fishing is where it’s at, I will grow weary of bass fishing and bolt to the GOM. Haha it’s awesome down there. That is a nice fish.
  23. You're exactly right, he must have missed that tournament but I didn’t. As far as the jerkbait issue, I made a statement on here about fish being hooked in the belly or back and can’t see how BASS sees that as a fish eating a bait. At any rate that’s just me..
  24. My Florida Largemouth bass at 11.2 came in like a pair of old boots lol. Not much actual battle at all, the fish on the surface made a powerful surge if you will but just nothing much in the way of actual fight. Idk, around here we get into 2 pound redear on light action rods with 4 pound and even 2 pound line and it’s a blast. I guess people have different ideals on the subject based on experience.
  25. I see you decided on the Tat, excellent choice for the coin..
