I broke off a Chad Shad yesterday on 20 lb Big Game, what do you think most likely caused the failure?
Tactical bassin dude uses 80 pound braid and says he never ever loses them anymore. Idk, I don’t throw them but he said it (Matt) on one of his swimbait videos.

Triggering Deep Bass
I was going to say a deep diver being cranked very fast to elicit a reaction strike. It works on Kentucky lake post spawn.. of course be prepared to get worn out doing it 😂

Bomb casting. When is far “too far”?
Anytime I step into a new design (reel)I bomb cast on my several acre yard. I use different lines via different rods etc. My new Bantams and Metaniums are little works of art but they don’t cast any better than the D series Shimano, they’re just different. Now as far as fishing. Yes to bomb casting on Kentucky lake with a 6 XD that’s pretty much the only time I’m really launching a bait.

Yamamoto Jigs
Don’t know but it’s easy to see they’re nothing special. As far as collectible, perhaps..

I have deprioritized hook setting. How about you?
Amazing, we now have fishermen who don’t even need to jerk. Or they just wait till the fish swallows a senko or tube.. it’s a crazy thing, timing a hookset..or pull or whatever ye may say 😉🤣

Do you truly match your rod setup to your presentation?
The only technique specific rods I could say I own are 1 895 GLX Flip/Pitch 20-25 pound line and my IMX pro 847 CBR (crank bait rod) everything else is what I like to use for whatever I’m planning to do. But I can use those rods in other ways I suppose. I’ve been using Loomis rods since about 96. I’m very familiar with them..I have others , Other Loomis rods, Kistler, 3 Edge rods.. etc

Buying reels from Japan
Wow! That’s a sweet deal for sure!

Buying reels from Japan
This is exactly what’s happened to me when ordering from Asian Portal. The main charge then usually another charge.. 8 to 12 more dollars but a second charge. In the last three orders it’s only happened once and I use my CC straight up. Screw PayPal lol Hell I want free lures who should I be using? I know a lot of times these other places are out of stock on my selection, so there’s that factor

How long will zillion deals last?
The HD is going to basically be bomb proof. I’ve used mag z back when the TDZ reels were around, still imo the best reels Daiwa ever made. The HD model will likely bomb a bait further than you’ll ever need to. For the record I’m all in on Shimano since Daiwa went all in on the Twing but I’m very familiar with Magforce Z. Superior to any other braking system on the market.

Do you need a dedicated jerkbait rod or can your MH “do everything” rod serve this purpose just fine?
I have about a dozen jerkbaits only, most are Spro and Yozuri. I’ll throw them on Kentucky lake on staging pre-spawn fish. I would rather throw darts in a bar than use a jerkbait 😂. Don’t get me wrong they’re a solid, effective bait but my right arm can’t deal with the cadence to be effective as many others are. So it’s just a tactic I’d rather skip if at all possible. But… I will use them especially if my partner is crushing them 😉 so my recommendation is, I have no recommendation. Haha.

IU Football
At this rate it’s coming! Guess I’ll try and watch them if they’re competitive now lol Same thing I missed apparently 😂 Totally agree they have ruined the College sport by allowing them to profit off the college level sport. I miss the old days when coaches smuggle gym bags of money to the players or their mothers 🤣😂🤣

I have deprioritized hook setting. How about you?
Hmm, well it’s a different kind of question to try to answer, it’s been answered somewhat differently by most everyone. I’m agreeing w WRB on the flip portion, mostly. Many times have I swung a T-rig plastic worm into Hydrilla to get hammered where the only thing to do is lift.. but it doesn’t always work that way. A longer pitch into hydrilla w a pick up may required a hard hookset. Line gets weird on longer pitches in the hydrilla and pads. Better have the rod and line to win….I agree also w A-Jay as far as the spinning presentation part, others alluded to this but when using, light, ml or mh spinning, light line and very fine wire hooks there is no need to swing like the “Babe” on these set ups. Can’t assess a number to my swing cause I just can’t lol. Kinda reminds me of going to the Dr. and being asked on a level of 1 to 10 what is your pain level? 🤣😂🤣

Getting Over the Hump.
I literally saw Denny Brauer pick a single down fall tree apart over the full course of a day. He caught a limit on that last day and won the Bassmaster Classic because of his determination.. Be determined. No matter what.

Correct line type
Well I ran an extruding machine (actually several) but point being I’m familiar with the process. However, the Copolys I use all have a Fluorocarbon coating particularly CX and CXX. Therefore it prevents uncoated monofilament lines from absorbing water, which happened for decades with Stren clear/blue which I used heavily in the 70’s and 80’s you probably did too. Yozuri has a bit different process since you have already alluded to that earlier. At any rate a person has to try multiple line types in various sizes to determine what suits the individuals needs. For most of us, fishing is a lifetime hobby with lots & lots of advancements. Btw, I made plastic for Elon Musk, Honda & Toyota, occasionally for Suzuki.. PS: I use Pline CX on spinning, CXX and predominantly Yozuri Hybrid on baitcasters. However I’m not happy with the 20 pound YO. I’ve ordered 22 pound Daiwa Samurai FC to test w my flip and pitch equipment.

Correct line type
Co poly or mono? Some folks will call a copolymer a mono. Bear in mind that a true mono will absorb water after a while. Making it heavier.. it will even cast better but it may affect your topwater baits action depending on what your using. Good luck.

Fluorocarbon line for flipping
I’m gonna order some and see, if it’s good or bad I’ll talk about on here. 2nd up is either the Daiwa Samurai or Seaguar AbrazX as another option. Anyone else wants to contribute to this please do..

Fluorocarbon line for flipping
That’s a much better price 34.99 for 200 yards, I can get at least two maybe 3 fills. What’s its strength to you? Soft, tough? Is it wiry like YO is? Yozuri is good line but at 20 or 25 it’s just unruly. I want a little better performance without spending huge money on line. Appreciate the info

Fluorocarbon line for flipping
What is it about Shooter you guys like/trust? How about price? Longevity? Appreciate the info Well I looked up the price. $48 for 165 yards.. Stuff better reproduce cause 😂

Fluorocarbon line for flipping
Well guys, I’m looking for options for durable yet softer carbon line between 20-25 pound range. I’m a long time Yozuri line user but this is specifically for my flipping setup. I know it seems like a misnomer but tough yet soft.

P line CXX vs Yozuri Hybrid
Well since the thread isn’t garnering much interest I’ll go ahead and add my findings having used both, well even CX. As to Yozuri vs CXX both lines are incredibly tough. CXX has clear/blue and a very bright neon yellow fl line. Yo has a pale yellow fl line color and clear only. I’m currently spooled up w 6 pound CXX fl yellow on my Metanium shallow spool. Imo, when you drop below 8# Yo the line breaks and kinks very easily, particularly the 6 pound. I was surprised by this. Then I spooled up one of my late model Bantams w 20# CX clear blue fl. I was truly blown away by the sensitivity and feel thru my 7.5 foot extra heavy GLX stick. I truly don’t get it but it’s true and honestly after 25 years of using Yozuri Hybrid I was like what the heck. A softer line with better feel? I use CX on my spinning reels also but it never really occurred to me to try the heavier CX line on a serious flipping rod and reel. Every rod I use is a GLX w the exception of two IMX rods all baitcast variations. Spinning is Edge or Kistler rods. So there ya go, CX wins the sensitivity on a Bantam 8.1 w GLX As far as CX I guess I’ll roll with it and 6 pound CXX on my shallow spool metanium on my 892 GLX. I’m heavily vested in Yozuri in about every weight imaginable lol. Does anyone have a theory on the CX line being more sensitive w better feel? I ordered some more because I’m out.. lol . CXX in 6 is by far a tougher line at least as far as useage on a bait caster. I’m gonna try it on a spinning reel next and see.

P line CXX vs Yozuri Hybrid
Interesting, how about CX, what do you guys think if you’ve used it?

P line CXX vs Yozuri Hybrid
Which has better feel In your opinion. In sizes 12to 25?

Would you want to be Tom (WRB) back in the glory days?
No, come on.. there’s only 1 Tom (WRB) he’s experienced California and its heyday of trophy largemouth bass fishing. Albeit w the help of the Florida strain Lmb. And a state stocking continual feedings of Rainbow trout. No disrespect, but I’m content with my own wild adventures not only in central Florida but In Puerto Rico too.. We all have shared some incredible stories on here and for that I’m grateful to hear everyone’s experiences. 😉 much respect to the Man..
