Carbontex Replacement For Felt Drag Washers
I run my stock Shimano ones, if they wear out before the gears do I’ll replace them (baitcasters) spinning is a bit different they will likely need replaced considering light line and considerably more drag usage. Again it will be with OEM. Saltwater stuff is different.

It’s That Time…..
Haha I got stories.. and pictures. But yea it got really rough during the redneck wars.. I guess that was the last straw for gramps.. I have 1 picture of a timber rattler hanging from the ball fields fencing back stop..my dad was 6 posing next to the hanging snake, he said it was over 8 foot long, no girth measurement but it was very large in diameter.. my great grandmother is buried on top of Black mountain. She lived up there till her death in 72, I believe she was 96. My dad and uncle buried her. Don’t know if her cabin still stands or not, don’t matter, the mining company or the State of Kentucky took the land. Been back once, can’t see nothing from the top Lol.. single lane up or down and they still logging it. It ain’t safe 🤣😂🤣 anyways I’ve gotten really sideways here, my apologies to the OP.

It’s That Time…..
Heading out Wednesday with cases upon cases of bottled water, food stuffs etc etc.. My family, my people are from Black Mountain Kentucky, or Harlan county.. I'm glad my Grandfather moved away and headed north, settling on the Siltstone Escarpment in southern Indiana.. also called the Knobstone escarpment..

Prayers and much love to you and your lovely wife A-Jay..

To loosen drags or not?
Nope, I do not. I check em before first cast unless it’s my JDM Vanford, it uses felt drag washers so I back those off..

What's Your Favorite Season for Catching Bass
Depending on how rough the winter was but if it’s been mild, by the end of February early March it becomes hog hunting time, of course weather interruptions etc will reset the cycle but it’s the best period of the year. I’ve done well in Fall as the water isn’t busy at all and some good fishing days along with stable beautiful weather.

Strike King Tungsten Compact Casting Jigs Question
Yup, hard pass here too. I’m good on tried and true jigs. What were they thinking?

Do/should guides actually fish when you pay for a guided fishing trip?
That’s a dandy right there…

I’ve caught many in Florida on a Rattletrap, particularly the St. John’s river. Chrome/ Blue back. More than a few in the 4 to 6 pound range but all the big girls always came Flippin hydrilla on take your pick lakes lol No it’s not you.. something has happened in society.. that kind of behavior is everywhere now and it’s on a daily.

Jerkbait reel
Best jerkbait ever made!

Jerkbait reel
Hell yea, is that a LC pointer 100?

Jerkbait reel
No doubt. It would be money well spent. I use Metanium reels, a 22 with shallow spool (love it) a 24 / 100 and two Bantam reels they are all incredible fishing reels. I guess I gotta get that Aldebaran now, I’ve never thrown one yet but I already know I’m gonna snag one 😂🤣😂 definitely a tackle junky Of course every great reel has to have a great rod, right? lol

Jerkbait reel
That is true, definitely an amazing reel & it ought to be for the money they want for it, I don’t feel I need it but you know.. by January the Baitmonkey starts to lurk around my living quarters. 😝 Nice rig. Ya ought to tie on a bell sinker and go throw that bad boy now! 😂🤣😂

I put lures on sabbatical. Do you?
Man. I’ll throw a swim jig over a crank bait unless it’s early spring then it’s pick your favorite because active fish won’t care much. I love to throw a big ole LC BDS 4 on Kentucky lake. But worms n jigs are the deal for me any other time. I listened to one pro lament about how the whopper plopper didn’t work as good as it had for the previous 10 years… yea, I guess he was implying it took the fish a decade to figure it out. The next day on Lake Fork I think it was, Hackney caught a 3 pound fish on a whopper plopper , boy ole Davy Hite liked to come unglued about that 😂🤣😂

Exactly true.

FOX Expands Coverage of Bassmaster
I believe you’re right. I tried to watch them all this year and some of it was ok. But with the Johnston brothers , and the BIG ONE was Zaldain crashing the weekend angler fishing on a public lake and making threats to go to the guys work and disrupt his job. It’s becoming ghetto.. and while their is typically some kind of drama, ffs has sealed the the deal for me as far as a spectator sport. BASS will crash.. it’s been close before with way better talent.

Short Shank Treble Hooks
I’ve seen some remove the front all together and even others remove both and put a large single hook on the rear.
