C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS)
C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) is a comet from the Oort clouddiscovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory in China on 9 January 2023 and independently found by ATLAS South Africa on 22 February 2023. So have any of y’all saw it, photographed it? Found it and shot it tonight.

Should I remove the screw sinker weights from the stick baits if I'm using Buckeye Flicket Lure
Plus I’m thinking that the Buckeye brand is lead vs tungsten in the Jackall brand.. It's a jig head that’s used primarily with Jackall’s flick shake worm. It’s a similar tactic as the wacky senko presentation.. look it up for more bait monkey ideals 😂

I have an ongoing debate with my friend about smallmouth and sun. He insists that they LIKE sun, and it is only the barometric pressure of a bluebird day that stifles them. My experience has been the opposite; the cloudier and nastier the better.
Those are frigging toads dude, thick trophy fishes for sure..

Color blindness in largemouth
Exactly what A-Jay is saying… it’s confidence which is crucial. How does one obtain this? He alluded that experience proves success with this bait that bait, this color that color during different conditions etc. I have my favorites also. A blue back/silver rattletrap scores heavy in Florida waters but is also effective in Kentucky waters, for me! Plastic worm colors for me are motor oil or any shade of green up here, for me! In Florida it’s well known that Junebug is the favorite color for that tannic colored water. Gold actually reflects light better than chrome according to In- Fisherman magazine circa 1985. Maybe it does but my chrome plated rattle traps always were destroyed by LMB. I use red, orange, gold n black, green, blue, chartreuse n black and have done well with all colors with green particularly by Yozuri to be my best producer year in and year out, as far as crank baits or soft plastic is concerned . At the end of the day I always rig what I’ve done well with regardless of the myriad of colors that I may have. Fish your confidence. And yes, if us old salts are under the spell of the bait monkey 😂 then you know it’s a real thing. Happy shopping. oh & btw, mature lmb and smb are a totally different gig than the cookie cutter bass many of us all catch. I equate them with hunting whitetail superbucks.. just totally different behaviors.

One word of advice that changed your fishing career
Studying the largemouth bass by reading ANYTHING the Doug Hannon wrote or revealed. I’m a rescue diver and I was in the military in the 80’s and applied to him for a camera operator (underwater) he called me later and told me many things but he said he was humbled by my interest in LMB and being in the military looking to pursue other interests. I didn’t get the job but he is my hero when such topics are brought up. He was an incredible Man. (We both lived in Florida.) RIP Doug Hannon.

Spinning rods, guides, braid to leader knot
Totally agree with you papajoe.. I’ve been catching fish on mono, co-poly, and fc coated lines for 40 years. I slack line fish with senkos , I fish Texas rigged plastic worms on it, I fish jig n pigs on it. The ideal that it’s inferior to braid to leader isn’t a true statement. It’s a fishing industry manufacturing statement. Another thing, this ideal that it’s laborious in changing out mono or like lines two or three times a year is just laziness.. I can literally remove and reinstall fresh line on a spool in under 8 minutes (spinning) baitcasters in 5.. but, I know you know this as does @Catt It’s personal choice and I do respect that, it’s a right of being American. 🇺🇸 Fuji fazlites are absolutely solid guides both frames and inserts. I have them on two IMX rods, one is a saltwater rod and the other is a crank bait rod. Oh, make that 3, I’ve got a recent Kistler Helium ML/Fast with fazlite guides. It’s an awesome rod for the money. I do use mono/copoly/fc coated lines on all my rods though. But I’m certain Fuji wouldn’t put out a guide insert material that couldn’t handle braided lines..

Nitro z20 battery issue
I would wager a bet in Vegas you have inferior batteries.. and that wiring job, well it doesn’t look very professional. I see two batteries not three, BPS isn’t exactly known for having great service either. When I bought my Skeeter many years ago.. I went thru it completely, all new switches, pumps, I pulled new wiring, new tires etc that boat was solid for 15 years except the batteries.. every two years it got new batteries.. couldn’t tell you why but I just sucked it up.. I should say the start of the third year, but yes, you can and will get a bad battery. Good luck to ya.

How late do you still throw frogs and toads?
My son asked me to go last Sunday and I passed, but he caught 16 including one 5 pounder, and a limit of 3.5 pounders on a white buzzbait . Heck I don’t even fish buzzbaits anymore, I was in shock 🤣🤣🤣

The latest sale thread
I have a KLX with the Loomis blank and recently bought a Helium ML/fast 7’spinning rod. I’ve bought 3 GLX rods and 1 IMX crank bait rod in the 7 power which is a heavy/ moderate fast. The helium rod is on par with my GLX sensitivity. Totally impressed with it. Trey gives a military / veteran discount as well. (Kistler)

American Legacy Fishing Used Gear Trade In Program Shipping Concerns/Tips
I live 100 miles away. They have a slew of kids working there. I’ve been there a dozen times, they are lost with customer service via email. Always call, they have some good folks there and some buttheads. I’ve bought 4 Loomis rods from them this year.2 Edge rods, A Kistler which was returned and it took a month to get my credit card refunded. All in all I would still recommend them. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the USPS delivery on rod tubes is terrible. I’ve had 3 ‘this year broke completely in two and were haphazardly taped back together again by postal service and yet some how not a scratch on my rods.. go figure. Seems to be between Evansville & Louisville but I talk to them routinely and they say between Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee they have the worst delivery issues. Lost tubes, broken tubes/rods etc. of course that’s not on ALFC, just a little warning concerning the mail service. Also they will not take in store branded rods or reels. Happy shopping.

Milton
Took a large van into NC last week, those mountain hollers are apocalyptic. Gone. Bodies in trees, caskets in random locations. Now Florida is under the gun again and this thing although slightly weaker at the moment will get stronger. A cold front has passed thru here heading and expected to disrupt Milton to some extent. Thoughts and prayers to all Floridian peoples..

25mph gust jerkbait
A working man has to go when he has free time, lots of time I’ve had exceptional days in spring and 20-25 mph winds. But I’m not throwing a jerk bait, I’m throwing a spinnerbait

What make a spinnerbait worth $35?
I bought 4 of the Jackal Dooon spinner bait I bought them directly from Shimano. Price was $5.50 ea. They are 3/8 in weight and seem like a finesse type spinnerbait. Haven’t used them yet, but they seem a little on the weak side, I’m thinking more of a finesse spinnerbait.

Hooks rusting out?
Ok, I’m gonna ask, how long has this water been in your box?

Need a new rod
Haha, hey all things considered I’m glad I made you laugh! Also I’m thinking the bait monkey lives in my house if you wanna know the truth! 🤣😂🤣

IGFA records
Yep such was the case with the Indiana state record largemouth caught right here in my area of Elizabeth, In. If I recall properly they did DNA (IN DNR) and determined it was a Florida strain LMB. What? I remember thinking how in the hell.. But they conceded and granted the state record. It wasn’t an IGFA record but still, I do know the place it was caught and it’s a private lake , surrounded by half million dollar homes. The bait was a 1/4 ounce Pop R There is always luck in fishing lol

Who Throws White Jigs in Fall?
Began throwing them in the 70’s but not exactly what you’re describing, but rather smaller white hair jigs / maribou jigs in creeks and rivers. As far as swim jigs in white for bass? I have only a few and they’re unused. Maybe I should give it a chance.
