Is this a bait you just put up in these situations or do you personally try to use it when it’s this windy?

For this kind of situation I like the Jackall Rerange.  It throws really well into the wind and it produces.  I throw it with an Expride rod and a DC reel.   

For this type of situation I like the couch. LOL

I love the Rerange.. I throw the 130 and yea it’s my second fave jerkbait after the Pointer 100

The Shimano world minnow has an impressive weight transfer, I'd say equal to the rerange and megabass LBO baits. But I'm with @Huckfinn38 on this one, if it's blowing that hard I'm staying home.

I'll fish a JB in 25mph winds, I just cast 90 degrees to or with the wind. 

Medium power spinning rod, spooled with 10lb. yellow braid, with 10lb. fluoro leader.

 

Let her rip, right in to the wind!

No Chance. 25MPH winds equals 3 or 4 foot rollers around here.  There will be better days and I'm not that mad at 'em.

I'm sure I've said this before but I fish jerkbaits a ton and if its windy you are in for treat. They seem to work best when the surface is a mess. Not always fun fishing heavy wind but man the bite is good on a vision 110 or pointer 110. Get after it!

What colors do you like to throw with some good wind/chop?

If you have wind like that, it usually causes those fish to stack up and a JB can get that whole school fired up.  You just have to know your limits safety wise and be prepared to make the right decision if conditions get dangerous.

I like a 110 or JB with similar action most of the time.  When it's blowing that hard, I like a bait that's not as subtle, with more profile/weight and more aggressive action/rattles.  The Duo 120sp works really well in those conditions.  I like bolder colors when it's that windy, especially with cloud cover too.  They don't get bit as consistent day in day out as more natural colors, but in that nasty weather they put up serious numbers.  Mat Tiger, Tequila halo, chart gill halo, optishad have all done really well for me.

A working man has to go when he has free time, lots of time I’ve had exceptional days in spring and 20-25 mph winds. But I’m not throwing a jerk bait, I’m throwing a spinnerbait 

I'd rather be fishing a heavier lipless...

I am addicted to a wide open jerkbait bite. 

Past few years, I've done OK fishing a jerkbait in windy conditions.

I prefer natural colors that have some silver or flash to them. Perch and blue are great too.

I actually threw a french pearl last night for the first time ever.

 

Going after bass of course and caught three crappies.

 

One was 1/2" shy of an Iowa Master Angler award!

 

First time I've ever thrown a jerkbait.

 Nice! Keep them in mind for saltwater fishing too. All species will eat these. Just make sure to get stronger hooks. 

Best casting jerkbait is the Jackal Rearrange I just hate that it sounds like your line just snapped on every cast. High winds use a spinning rod unless you want to pick out birds nests half the day.

Pointer 95 silent in american shad, a slightly bigger bait would probably be easier to throw but this bait has caught me my pb spot, pb smallie, and lots of big largemouth in those exact conditions. With wind that crazy it’s hard to know if you are even working your bait correctly but it must be doing something they like because it truly works.

I use spinning gear in stiff winds, a 6'9" Kistler KLX or 6'8" Kistler Magnesium LMH/MF.

Windy days are the exact kind of days I like to fish a jerkbait in.
