  1. What could Ben Milliken possibly advise the Elite series on?
  2. No. On those reels you’ve named those would be the cross carbon drag systems. On the USDM the 2500 would be using the CCD, under that size I’m pretty sure the new smaller panfish, trout size models will be felt. I bought mine from Japan, a reel designed for the JDM marketplace.
  3. The JDM Vanford 2500 S is a felt washer drag. It’s also a shallow spool perfect for around 2 to 4 pound line or possibly braid (don’t use braid) it’s also a 5.3:1 gear ratio.. as I’ve said before, mine is on a two piece edge rod which is 7’ light power with fast action. It’s my favorite rod for small rivers, creeks etc. @bulldog1935 @FishTank can speak to very small diameter braid if that’s your juice..
  4. That in my opinion was mistake # 1 Exactly right. Particularly those who profit from fishing and could be classified as ambassadors to our sport.
  5. Merry Christmas everyone.. hope you got that special rod or reel you wanted!
  6. Ooops. 🤣🤣🤣 @Swamp Girl
  7. BM and his story.. took awhile to figure it all out huh? Sorry but it sounds similar to an excuse my 14 yo son would have given many years ago. Guess he had to run that thru his attorney first 🤣😂🤣
  8. Ok I gotcha. Well I hope you get what ya need and want.
  9. Where is the rod made? (SC) and what modulus is it? I’m assuming you’re doing jigs or bottom hopping TRigs. As you’ve selected an 8 speed reel. Is this true?
  10. I know it and to me what’s worse are his loyal YouTube followers. It gives you even additional data to understand where our sport is heading. In general I’ve always seen our sport of fishing as an honorable one. Mercy me, times have certainly changed. As far as 6th Sense is concerned, (sponsor/BM is part owner) I don’t take issue with, I have a few of their flat sided crank baits I like.
  11. Good for you to verify the accuracy of our disdain for him.. but that’s just the truth of him.
  12. Totally lost a cellphone in Cumberland river many years ago and it cost me 1k. Which is why I never take one on the boat anymore for pictures. My son has lost 5… I kid you not. I’ve never lost a rod/reel over the side though. My father threw his anchor overboard but it wasn’t tied off I laughed at him so hard it was 🤣🤣🤣I miss him still..
  13. That is soo funny!! Is this a story or did this really happen? 😂🤣😂 hey I’ve heard some doozies before!
  14. Well Zaldain and Candy Randy ( credit to AJay) are BFF.. Randy B claims he partially designed the 110. Perhaps that’s true but what I read on here is folks who use the Megabass 110 use it because it’s a superior jerkbait, and not because Candy Randy promotes it via TW..
  15. Trey McKinney made some costly mistakes this past Elite series tournament trail. People trashed him and he’s a kid, 18 turned 19. He was shown no mercy and he actually is a phenomenal fisherman unlike Ben. Folks didn’t really give Trey a pass even though he was 18 to start.. Ben is a grown Man and half as good as Trey. Ben is brash and arrogant, I don’t watch him on the tube but I’m thinking he’s the Jake Paul of the fishing world..he should stick with the tube, he’s got a army of like minded followers over there. Trey even reported hisself in one instance. I think it’s safe to say there is a character disparity between the two Elite series fisherman.. we need more Treys and less Bens..
  16. I’ve tried Yozuri rattle baits and Luckycraft LV rattle baits and none of those can even get close to the effectiveness of the OG rattletrap and I’ll buy them 10 at a time. My only gripe is they’ve moved up to about $10 bucks a piece. Nonetheless I’ll buy em as I see them 😂 They are that good. They may not look like those pretty JDM models but I’m not caring about that at all. Fish destroy OG traps!
  17. Exactly. I’ve heard his license was expired for 5 months, never mind the fraud part. Too bad his brain isn’t as big as his head.
  18. Just close the bail by hand, you can feather your cast this way plus stop it on a dime.. then just close the bail by hand..personally been doing it this way for 25 years. All I use is Shimano. But use Daiwa and send me all your Shimano reels 😂
  19. I’m not sure about that because to be honest, I’m not completely sure about micro module gearing yet. I updated this past spring but just don’t have enough hours on my Metaniums or my Bantam A reels to know for sure. But I’m betting @Delaware Valley Tackle would know.
  20. Totally solid reels, should be great for not only frogs but Trigs, and Jigs.
  21. I’d contact them, there is no harm in doing so however in my opinion the rod is garbage.. keep it as a reminder of what a nice wife you have.
  22. When I think of wake baits I think of something like this.. it’s 1 oz and works very well. This one needs upgraded hooks and split rings though and at 9$ at BPS won’t hurt to lose it. Manns -1 the large size with all trebles removed with a large single hook on the rear proved to be a killer bait in the GOM on redfish. Learned that from a Captain / guide.
  23. Very nice catch you made there. I guess the MB jerks are worthy after all. I’ve been trying to get my son to make a run to Land between the Lakes but he’s been caught up with deer and now duck hunting.. it’s a bit of a drive but I always do well on Kentucky lake, it’s coming back in a strong way after a considerable downturn..
  24. I remember that Bill Plummer frog, coolest frog ever invented for the time.. hookups were tough as I recall but I was a young fisherman and soon learned I had to hand sharpen that hook.. still it was a blast to fish.
  25. Well I use Yozuri Hybrid in 6 or CXX in 6 I like spinning and use it fairly often but my favorite is power fishing w heavy rods and Trigs and Jigs. Put me in 5 acres of hydrilla and I’m loving it. I know our Florida boys understand and I know Catt understands also.. I’m not sure if WRB ever fished any kind of heavy vegetation but no matter, we all exploit our personal little environments and do what we do.. I don’t use braid though I understand its appeal. I guess it’s one of the reasons this board is so very interesting reading everyone’s adventures from the far north to the Deep South and thanks to WRB we get to learn about western bass fishing. It’s interesting for a myriad of reasons. Today is Pearl Harbor day. 83 years ago. Kinda hard to believe it’s been 83 years now. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
