  1. Sweet! Thanks for the feedback on that weight range. As far as the eva knobs I’m of a similar opinion, I don’t prefer it on rod handles either. Thanks brother, that’s exactly what I was getting at.
  2. I’m referring to gear power/ raw cranking power. It will likely go on my GLX xtra heavy flip stick. It’s only rated to 1 1/2 ounce though. I do have a sweet IMX crank bait rod that’s a heavy and it needs a proper power reel for 3/4 to the monster RC which weighs in at 1 1/2 the rod can handle it but I’m thinking this isn’t the reel for that work
  3. Wow that’s amazing. Glad I listened to your recommendation on this reel, certainly seems it has aftermarket support. I’m still wondering about power though.. it won’t be much longer and I’ll be on the big water, but till then I’ve got some decisions to make.
  4. What’s your opinion on power? I’m using the 7.1
  5. Now that’s interesting.. so basically no spool limitations as long as it’s a 34 mm ? So if I wanted to easily throw lighter baits, what spool would you recommend? (Here I go down the rabbit hole ) Got some 22 Samurai to put on it, after I make a 100 casts with Yozuri 10
  6. Picked one up from Japan on Thursday, it’s a beautiful reel, very smooth and a different feel than my Metaniums and Bantams. I like it though I have yet to line it up. Opinions on power as well as the braking system , long cast ability are appreciated. It’s been pouring rain..
  7. No. While pitching/flipping. Then rod goes to left hand , hand cups reel again with fingers once again splitting the trigger. I’m not limited at all, I use my full cork or full carbon handles against my body many times on hook sets. It’s absolutely, positively not an issue for me.
  8. I never use the trigger on a baitcast rod as a trigger per se, it rides in between two fingers as my hand both cups my rod blank (exposed blank) and my reel.. all with my right hand.
  9. Baitcast: pitch-flip-cast with right hand, completion of cast switch rod to left hand, handle retrieve is right hand. Spinning: cast with right hand, feather cast with left hand. Completion of cast, rod held w right hand, retrieve with left. Bulldog1935 is correct, it’s pretty much a byproduct of growing up in the 70’s when you had RH baitcast reels and left handed spinning. Old habits die hard 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I hear it’s just lit up the last few days, apparently there was a rattletrap tournament there and 25 pounds won it. Lots of 20 pound bags also. Big girls are moving in shallow.. Don’t know what parts of the lake, I’m guessing the magic mile area. Get ready, we’re very close now. Us Midwest types that is 😂😂😂
  11. Cool party at @TnRiver46 buy plenty beer buddy!
  12. What’s the date?
  13. In the 80’s I did when I was in the Mil in Florida on shore duty, it was all aviation guys, I did win 2 of them. One on Lochloosa one on the St. John’s. It was all about fun and competition.. Then nothing till about 95, except these were 150 boat tournaments where in Florida we were lucky to have 25 boats. After a year I was done and just took my Skeeter out on my own. It really wasn’t fun like before. I truly loved going on my own, way more fun.
  14. I ordered the Daiwa ZILLION 22 HD, from Japan of course. I’m looking forward to giving it fair trial against my 23 Bantams. I’m curious about the Mag Z boost, as well as the other tech the reel incorporates. Hopefully it’s here by next weekend. It uses the 34 mm spool as well.
  15. No. The oldest I maintain for use is an FL Stradic. I upgrade about every 3 to 5 years.
  16. Yep^^ and the laws apply to us all right here on BR and all across this land..I’d also wager that anyone who would do something so asinine would also suffer the consequences of the laws.. apparently Ben thinks he is above the law. Why else would he do this ? At any rate, with the amount of exposure this case has received, Ben is more than likely in professional trouble..
  17. Cause Florida 🤣😂🤣 I’m outside casting right now. I couldn’t take it anymore, the farmers think I’m crazy, pretty sure. My German shepherd loves it, that’s his opportunity to sneak off 😂
  18. Yep,totally agree with your statement, the only time I ever had gear issues was on a 200 D, 5 to 1 that I’d crank deep divers on Kentucky lake. I knew a lady with a lake house and spent a good deal of time on the lake. But I’m a firm believer that nothing could survive a season of deep cranking as it was well known to wear a reel down, any make. The gear sets were cheap in those days and easy to change. All my reels are Shimano, spinning, baitcast..

Beats a zero.. that lil dude was hungry!
  20. Sounds like something KastKing would do imo.
  21. Shimano made a freshwater baitcast reel in the 80’s the had a gear shift lever on it. Ask DVT about it 🤣 There are plenty of saltwater reels that can do that. I have zero interest in such a reel as you speak of. BTW, whom does he say will bring this reel to market?
  22. He’s trollish in nature, but your absolutely correct about Shimano, I can absolutely tell ya they are far quieter than any Daiwa I’ve ever owned including the Tatula I tried and took back to my local BPS this past year. I’m going to probably try an HD Zillion soon and give it another go. But I’ve had zero issues out of my Bantums or Metanium reels.
  23. Totally gotcha, I wonder why we don’t just use IPT instead of gear ratios? IPT is definitely more accurate take a Lews 6.2 vs a Shimano 6.2 and IPT will not match. Oftentimes not even close! Your Daiwa reels are awesome.. race reels for sure. I keep thinking about giving a HD Zillion a try, I tried a Tat about a year ago, wasn’t to my liking but I don’t think that’s a fair assessment on Daiwa either. Especially considering I was a Daiwa guy for many years. Absolutely loved the OG Zillions
