  1. Been like that on public boat ramps for awhile now.. I guess it’s found its way from liquid to ice. Go figure. Never mind about road rage. Or Walmart rage 🤣
  2. Sweet, yea I’m gonna be interested in the tip as well, I’m not looking for a sissy stick here. Appreciate it.
  3. Well I’ve been thinking about this particular model, the 6’9” Heavy model. Wondering if any of you guys have it. Also what are your opinions on the handle? It’s definitely different.. The 6’9” appeals to me in heavy, other brands fitting the length and action are welcome.
  4. Where did the OP go? All this fine advice just waiting to change his life forever and he runs away..🤣
  5. Brother, everything has gone up in price, everything..
  6. The latest thing for me is my rotor cuffs, arthritis set in a few months ago and in both arms at seemingly the exact same time.. it hurts, bad. I’m still good on casting but idk for how long.. My reward for enjoying using my hands, laborious work ethic. I’ll use a cane pole if that’s what it comes down to 😂🤣😂
  7. I’ve read they are defunct, too many EPA violations. It’s been a year since I’ve read that so maybe they’re back, idk..
  8. I’m the same way. I’ve been a Gary Loomis rod user since 95, I like a dark stick with black wraps.. never have fished a Megabass rod because I’d never buy one. That’s actually what I’d call a pimp rod 🤣that’s what they look like to me anyhow.. OP: seems you picked this defective rod out in person and while Loomis CS didn’t sound helpful in a resolution you should have started at the retailer first, did you register the rod with Loomis? Do you have a screen shot of the email from Loomis?
  9. I’m with you, rods might be more important than a reel to be honest. But I’m fortunate to be able to have better reels as well as rods.
  10. 😂😂😂 Dude! I met the bait monkey in about 1977.. the thing is relentless and was probably a part of creation! Get use to it 😆
  11. The DT is an excellent crank bait designed by David Fritts.. but that lip would just break and break years ago. They seem improved now (lip) my son likes them real well too.
  12. The sound bite was that the jig that had a chirping sound? Marketed by Bill Dance?
  13. I use an Edge rod, 7’ light/fast two piece. Mounted on it is a JDM 2500 Vanford with a shallow spool. I run 2-4 pound test co-poly. I love it, it’s a blast.
  14. Man. I don’t mess with all that hocus pocus.. I keep bunches of new hooks. The 80’s I bought the large hook hone-er and mass sharpened hundreds of low quality hooks of the era. Nowadays hooks are soo sharp and not crazy expensive but have certainly gone up in the past few years. I’ve taken files on trips though and the ones I couldn’t do a thing with were Owners cutting points. I quit using those because they destroy a LMB’s mouth.. big holes, lots of damage..
  15. The Shimano 22 shallow edition is a 100 Metanium. It has an aluminum main gear. It has a Yumeya custom spool that has tuned braking to facilitate casting 3/16 to 3/8. It is not a BFS reel unless you call 1/8 to 3/8 BFS. In fact I’ve taken my shallow spool out and popped it straight into my late model metanium 100 HG and it fits and works the same. Mine is on a GLX 892 and it’s a joy to use. Bought mine last February. PS: It’s a shiny silver color, I like it.
  16. Shimano Bantam 8:1 w GLX xheavy/fast 7 feet & 5”
  17. They’re jealous dude.. let it go. It’s your gear, that’s it. Easy peasy
  18. Sweet. Sounds like you found something that’s gonna be your thing, that’s what it’s all about.
  19. Post a review of that rod when you get it and then again when you use it please..
  20. St. Croix does the same thing. Guide tying.. I’ve bought three GLX rods, baitcast and two IMX rods, baitcast, all this past year. they’re perfect in build. OP: where did you buy the rod? I got a buddy, he says his wife is beautiful, me, not so much 🤣😂🥂
  21. Haha I know that’s right. I have pulled OTR myself, all van stuff though, mostly 53 footers. Schneider up in Greenbay, had plenty of practice on getting under those jackknife trailers, it’s part of their sign on policy.. they have their own ice rink lol Be careful! As far as my local weather we got 10” of snow and maybe 3/4” of ice. Keeps an old guy busy that’s for sure!
  22. Even if you could find them for those reels, aftermarket spools are expensive. Just pony up and buy a BFS reel by either Daiwa or Shimano, if money is an issue buy a Kast king BFS, they’re running like 119$ I believe with 20% off online.
  23. You’d make more money if you write about UFO’s and particularly drones.. seems to be back in vogue again. 🤷‍♂️
