As I am trying to figure out how to make baits with components that don't exist I figured I would vent my frustration to see what everyone else is looking for. When making baits I fall back on 30 years of bass fishing experience and an engineering background. Unfortunately I am finding things I need don't exist so I have to get them custom made at crazy prices. Below I will list out what I am currently looking for.

1. Indiana blade in size 5.5, what I find is there is a large jump between size 5 and 6 indiana blades. Something inbetween would be perfect for a lot of applications but a mold from Lakeland is $3900 which is a bit steep right now.

2. 30 degree medium wire hooks in sizes 1/0 to 3/0. Mustad makes one in 4/0 and 5/0 but I need something smaller for small swim jigs. etc. which I cannot currently make without hand bending some 60 degree hooks.

3. Titanium spinnerbait wire= I have a guy that I can get some wires from but he only has less than 100 a year and they are like $3 each. Need to find someone that can make them in bulk and at a cheaper cost.

4. Skirt tabs I can have made in whatever color I want just need to buy a crazy amount of like 10k which is more than I could ever use in a single color.

What is everyone else looking for as I maybe able to help? This is just my b***h list of things I need but cannot find without getting a second mortgage on my house to pay for.

At the moment, looking for 1/2oz football jigs with a 2/0 heavy wire hook and a wire keeper. Just looking for the "raw" jig bc I want to paint it and tie my own skirt

Have you checked Cast Industries? Largest U.S. Manufacturer of Lead Fishing Tackle (castind.com)

A Split shot that's molded for attaching to a hook shank rather than crimped for line.

I'd never super glue my fingers together again

Take the insert out of a small rubber core sinker.

I've tried that before and use it for ewg × swimjig but i hand tie alot of jigs and those lead wts with the rubber are too long for alot of my hooks. I need more of a round shot

At the moment looking for 3/8 oz heavy cover skirted swim jigs with a 3/0 hook.

Wishing strike king made some in their heavy cover hack attack model.

I want the hook size on that weight of swim jig to get through heavy cover with a 3-4" zako but the size 5/0 hooks are massive for what I want to fish with

the do-it walleye jig in 3/4, 1oz and 1.5 oz.  The walleye mold that do-it does make only goes to 5/8.  I have seen this jig in the above mentioned sizes made by a couple larger jig makers around michigan but, i don’t know if the design is patent or what.   nobody really makes anything remotely close.  seems like do-it would make a killing for the walleye guys. I just don’t have the funds for a custom mold.

I’ve thought the same. I have buddies that go up to detroit every spring and those would be perfect for them.

If tour talking about a small move or for casting lead by hand, those type are fairly cheap, or should be.  I am a retired tool maker and made a number of prototype lead casting molds for a variety of lure makers back in the 80-90's when walleye fishing was make my a big comback.  My company made quite a few molds of single and double cavity lead molds to get the lure up and running.  Once it became a hit, then the lure companies sent to more expensive automated molds for higher production numbers.  There are a couple lure makers I see still using the old prototype mold I made way back when.  A simple one cavity hand casting lead mold should not be that expensive at all.

Don't admit to knowing how to make custom molds or your inbox will be full.

I wish they made underspins that were priced like the jighead+swivel+blade assembly that they really are. I’m not paying $5 for a single piece of terminal tackle. It’s a jighead with stuff on it; the price tag ought to reflect that.

It’s past my bedtime, rant over.
