Just saw the video of McKinney catching the fish he broke off earlier with his jerk bait still in its mouth.. pretty cool. That kid knows how to fish!

They seem to like a jerk bait today according to the 19 year old. Btw I think he’s still in the lead, IKE caught a nice fish this morning. Wong with a big ole 9.3 in the live well.. Haven’t heard Bassmaster even mentioned Milliken today.. (thank goodness) not much wind today and still overcast. A lot of fishing left.

I’ve been hoping ole Davy Hite would launch his boat and teach these youngsters how to flip a jig 🤣 Or maneuver a boat 🤣🤣🤣

Well one thing it proves is that there is great interest in the sport via social media, and perhaps that’s the only thing it proves. I thought it interesting to see the numbers and thought y’all might be curious also.. I do think it’s primarily for Bassmaster and sponsors to ponder rather than the average bass fishermen. Which is pretty much what TnRiver46 stated..

In regards to this past Bassmaster Elite series tournament..

There weren’t beds everywhere at all. Days 1 & 2 certainly proved that. 🤣

I was on live chat via YouTube watching the tournament live all 4 days.. I’ve never heard so much negativity about a tactic as I did concerning FFS. 70% seem to hate it.. Milliken had a ton of fanboi’s on too! It’s cool tech but it isn’t spectator friendly.

Kneeling and reeling baby 🤣 I’m not sure but didn’t he slay those fish on a 12” worm? What a bunch of fish that ole Paul pulled out that tournament! That’s just Hack, he has no qualm living and dying by fishing shallow via flip n pitch..

I’m going to do just that but if the gears go rough and gruff I’m going to try and replace them with brass.. maybe lol

Bought this a couple years ago and just now getting the time to throw it. I put it on a Loomis GLX 892.. Talk about a sweet rig! I like it a bunch, but and it’s not a problem yet,but will be if the history of Shimano s Aluminum gear sets are accurate. My question is has anyone here ever replaced the gear and pinion with a gear set from a 23 Metainium? I’m not sure they would even work but I’m researching it now. It’s an awesome lil pitching/casting rod for 3” to 4” senkos wacky rigged and small minnow type rigs. I have the 23 metanium and comparing the gear box , I’m guessing no. What y’all think?

The FFS issue that many are having will work itself out. I’ve watched 22 hours of this tournament live, today, I saw guys grabbing their backs, moaning getting in the rod boxes, complaining about neck pain and eyes hurting from the strain.. a couple abandoned the tactic and went power fishing to get a break! 🤣🤣🥲

Right. Guy had like 22 pounds in the first 30 minutes of fishing.. totally insane. You see his monitor up front? 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve learned a lot watching this tournament, they’ve talked a great deal about the FFS. It’s awesome tech that’s for sure, still, I’m OG on fishing the shallow waters.. kinda like RC said this morning, can’t stop doing what years have proven. He also said we’ll be dead in 10 years anyway 🤣🤣🤣 I love that guy I swear haha

Raul is/was a good dude. A vet down in Mexico. We both loved mono, particularly Yozuri Hybrid (I still do) We would team up in threads like mono vs braid, mono vs fluorocarbon etc.. good times, good vibes.. familiar vibes..

I’ve just purchased two new G Loomis / Shimano rods. IMX 903C and a E6X 964C BBR with graphite handle. These are for the Gulf of Mexico fishing trips. I own many Loomis rods under Shimano ownership and I’ve never broke a single one. I believe in the company & the product. Rod failures happen I guess, but I’ve had stellar service from my gear... which includes a sizable investment in Shimano reels too.. You must consider, the entire world is behind due to Covid and shut downs.. Some of us take responsibility for our personal failures, others decide differently. Myself? I would not.
