  1. Ditto..............................great stuff.....................Al
  2. Traveler, You might want to check out "Bass and Walleye Boats Magazine". They have some great articles on maintenance and boat handling. If they are still in print, not sure.......................Al found a link http://www.bwbmag.com/
  3. Lookin good!!!....................Al
  4. Fish, I was in the Navy for 22 of those years and in the Navy the flu shot was not optional. I did refuse to take it once with the gun but they did give mine with a needle. I had taken the flu shot once with a gun and about 60 seconds later I thought my arm was going to fall off. Even though the Navy reguired the shot I would have taken it voluntarily. If I had your medical issues that would not have been the case...........................Al
  5. Years ago the shot was a live virus and you could get the flu, now you can not.....................Al
  6. I fished one here in Tennessee last year but did not win any money. It was fun and different. I fished the Oakley tournament if there are others, not sure. The tournaments are very well run and they give very frequent updates for the current winning weight. They held the weigh in on a commercial dock which allowed a quick weigh in and back fishing. The only time you had to worry about was travel time to the dock and back. Will probably fish it again this year...............Al
  7. Two of the major sponsors of the tournaments are the electronics companies, so that will not happen................Would be fun and old school...................Al BTW- Those boats are probably in excess of $60000.
  8. I'm really surprised at the number of you that don't take the shot. I understand if there are medical reasons for not taking it but I had the flu once and I made myself a promise to try and prevent it in the future. I have not missed a shot in at least 40 years...And I have been sick but not like that first time.............Al
  9. I learned something today................Thanks, Rhino
  10. I will be a Short Stay in march and my ice will not be wasted in tea......................Al
  11. Ditto. That a nice fish anywhere...............................Al
  12. I'm not sure where you are located but if you are near Fall Creek Falls park you may want to try fishing there. A state record largemouth was shocked up there by TWRA a couple of years ago. At least one very large fish is there. I have never fished the lake but it is larger than I would have expected in a state park...............................Al
  13. Thanks Sam, I will pass your comments to Kyle. I don't think the separation exists in fishing that exists with the major sports in schools. They are all on pretty equal ground now but who knows where it is headed. I suppose I will need to offer a little more support to Kyle than I have been..............................Al
  14. I climbed around a few boats last night at the annual Fishing Expo. These I can remember, Triton, Ranger, Express, Bullitt, Allison, Nitro, Phoenix, several tin boats and probably some glass that I can't remember. All of these boats look good and are probably good boats. But one has impressed me for a couple of years and it is the Phoenix. The thought gone into storage compartment lay out and use is great. There is no comparison with the boats at this show. I did not price any boat nor ride in any but if I was in the market I would not buy without looking and driving a Phoenix. The only drawback I saw was the small console. It did not offer much protection from the elements, however some folks prefer an open cockpit and this one is open. This may sound a little confusing but the actual console is fiberglass top and bottom. Meaning no wires exposed above the drivers feet. This is the only bassboat I have seen with a closed console. And that may contribute to the small look of the console. If you at any spring boat shows and they have a Phoenix take a look at it. And no I have no affiliation with any bassboat brand except Champion(I own one)........................Al
  15. I'm sure you can find a way to spend it! Enjoy.......................Al
  16. I have the BPS 100MPH suit that I bought 10 or 12 years ago. It has been used a great deal and the only problem with it has been fading a bit. This suit has been abused but has held up extremely well. If I had a complaint would be "it is hot in the summer". In my opinion there is no substitute for gore tex. I have not found anything that performs as well. But in all fairness and due to past failures I don't try anything else..............................Al
  17. I have been wanting to crappie fish and with the lake muddy and rising they will not bite. It will take a few weeks for the lake to drop back to normal and clear up. However I will survive lol.................Al
  18. My son drove through Birmingham yesterday on his way to Mississippi. He told me the only traffic problems he ran into were there and caused by the snow...................Al
  19. I live in East Tennessee and in the last 96 hours we have received over 9 inches of rain as measured by my rain gauge. It is raining like the devil now but is supposed to stop raining in order to start snowing this afternoom. The weather guesser is predicting 3-6 inches of snow this afternoon. WTFO? I live on Douglas Lake which has 550 miles of shoreline and is lowered by approximately 50 feet in the winter for flood control(TVA lake). The lake has come up 27 feet and TVA is predicting it will rise another 10 feet in the next 48 hours. The fish don't know what to do, or the fishermen. I have lived on this lake for 12 years and have seen nothing like this before. The weather forcast for tomorrow is for sunshine, thank you God.............Al
  20. We will have to face them barrel to barrel sooner or later................Al
