  1. Do you guys use this stuff? Does it make the cork last longer and stay clean? Does it change the color or texture? Is it sticky or tacky? Thanks.
  2. I have used braid up to this point on every reel: power pro 10lb, 15lb, 20lb, 30lb and 40lb, suffix 832 30lb. This year I'm going to try sunline sniper 7lb and 10lb and some copoly 8lb.
  3. Someone needs to walk me through the process of posting pics. I'm not very tech savvy lol.
  4. Yes, I couldn't pass it up.
  5. You guys are right. I'll just be extra careful. It's not a rare reel, but the paint job is so nice that I'd hate to see it get scratched.
  6. I'm sorry to hear about your dad and hope he recovers well. You did a great thing going back and talking to them. Good karma which will be paid forward.
  7. I just picked up a nice custom painted (by calfish) zillion 50th anniversary. It is beautiful, maybe too nice lol. I'm afraid to fish it and get a scratch. I originally intended on putting it on my perfect pitch xx for jigs and frogs, but now I have trepidations after seeing it in person. What would you guys do? Fish it or shelf it?
  8. 4" senko, tubes, jerkbaits, grub/jighead
  9. Alberto for leaders, palomar for braid, improved clinch for mono/fluoro.
  10. Ditto, hope they bring some volkeys here.
  11. I'll bring my jerkbait special xx/steez 103 with sv spool and a jerkbait
  12. You are a hoot. I think I'd really enjoy fishing with you...I'd probably laugh the whole time.
  13. Lol..glad to see I'm not alone.
  14. I have a feeling you're going to have problem, lol. I'm hopelessly struggling with the monkey myself.
  15. I'd find a used daiwa or shimano. If you want a new reel: tatula, t3 ballistic or lews.
  16. I use 30lb braid on just about everything: jigs, t rigs, weightless soft plastics, cranking, spinnerbaits, dropshots etc. On my finesse casters I use 10lb braid because of line capacity. I use different leaders for each application. I do it for simplicity and the fact that I keep the reel spooled with the same braid for years. I am going to try some fluoro this year though to see what all hype is about in regards to slack line sensitivity though. However, I will say that I find braid w/fluoro leader plenty sensitive for weightless senkos, but then again I don't fish with a slack line. Even on a semi slack line I don't believe I'm missing bites, but I'm going to give straight fluoro a try because so many experienced anglers seem to endorse it.
  17. I've never fished the team lite, but I used to own mostly lews reels and I really liked them. I've since sold them all and went with shimano and daiwa. I'm not sure if they are better, but I prefer them. One of the things I really like about shimano/daiwa is all of the upgrade options available. I think lews makes a fantastic reel out of the box and if your intention is to just buy a reel and keep it stock then you can't lose. I love fishing, but tinkering with things like spool upgrades is like a whole other hobby for me. For $240 I'm looking for used shimano/daiwa that once retailed for $400.
  18. TDZ R+ with 7.1 gears, better drag, 90mm carbon handle and a more durable finish. Also the TD ITO.
  19. Daiwa TDZ R+ with 7.1 gear set on a megabass f5 75 x7 extreme mission.
  20. Congrats! I picked a pxl r at the end of the season and didn't get a chance to really use it yet, but I did some casting without catching and I love it. I just picked up a klx finesse rod for mine, but very nearly went with a dx 702/701. I'd go with the 702 between the rods you mentioned.
  21. Where are the 2 extra bearings? Knobs?
  22. I was bank fishing with a buddy at a local lake with plenty of shoreline. I find a nice patch of lily pads in the corner of the lake. I set my tackle bag down and start tying my frog on when this dude and girlfriend come walking up and he literally stops in front of me and starts casting into my spot just as I finish tying my rig. I stood right next to him and start casting. He looks at me like I'm a jerk. I was casting so close to his casts that he eventually got hung up in a tree and broke off. Frustrated he left, but I'm sure in his mind I was the jerk. Some people are clueless...
