  1. Kvd line and lure conditioner actually works.
  2. Which lake were you at?
  3. I'd go with the president. I also have a trion and I do recommend it also.
  4. This year I started using sniper and I have to say I love it for senko and light t rigs. I would definitely get some kvd line and lure conditioner because it works.
  5. The stella is probably an amazing reel, but I'd never spend that much cash for 2 reasons: it's out of my price range and I don't use spinning gear that often. When I do use it, I'm completely fine with my president. I've asked this question before too because I can't wrap my head around what an $800 spinning reel does better.
  6. I think alot of them already spawned. I've been seeing fry at lake arthur and cross creek.
  7. Yes, out of your particular set ups take the spinning rod with 20lb braid and add a fluoro leader. I use straight 12lb sniper fluoro and love it for senkos on casting gear. I used to use braid w/leader and found it to worked just fine, but I've come to appreciate straight fluoro.
  8. The standard question is: price range and application?
  9. I love all of my reels, but if I had to pick one it would be my td ito with 7.1 gears because it is just special.
  10. Pick up an avail microcast spool and your choice of shimano 50 reels.
  11. Braid w/leader is much more manageable on spinning gear for me.
  12. He already made his choice and bought the pq. OP good choice. The pq's will serve you well as they were a great reel for me as well.
  13. The tdz r+ is not as wild as the steez in my hands even though they both share r+ tuning. I'd rather have an alphas sv over the alphas ito for sure.
  14. You can buy an alphas sv any time and I suggest you do, but the R+ is a special reel that is getting harder to find.
  15. If you can locate a R+ go for it. Second choice would be an alphas sv. Third, original zillion and depending on your application a used px type r.
  16. I would definitely use the revo sx for punching over the speed spool.
  17. What's your budget? I'd buy the best I could afford within reason.
  18. 1) senko 2) havoc pit boss 3) fat ika 4) super fluke
  19. Fat Ika because I can skip it like mad.
  20. I traded rods in and I think they gave a fair deal. I would do it again.
  21. If you are using any slack or semi-slack line techniques like weightless plastics, t rigs or jigs you are going to miss bites by holding the rod only like you are. Palming (holding the reel) and using your finger under the line makes a big difference in detecting bites.
  22. I don't have any experience with these rods, but just looking at the specs they look pretty similar. I think you are on track with what to use these rods for. The 6'10" mh sounds like a great jig/worm rod up to 3/8 plus plastic. Also sounds like a killer senko/fluke rod. I'd think a spinnerbait/squarebill would be work fine too. The 6'8" h sounds like a swim jig, heavier spinnerbait, target pitching and frog rod.
  23. It'll work fine but it's just a little overkill for bass. It is bigger, heavier and holds more line than you need for bass.
