  1. It sounds like you need the veritas.
  2. I love my NRX 893c, but I don't know if it's in your budget.
  3. Very cool. Dolphin fishing is on my bucket list.
  4. This is hilarious. I'm anxious to hear how it goes.
  5. It depends on what else you have. If this is your first set up then I'd get 2, but if you're just adding to your arsenal get 1. I always try to buy used, especially reels because you can find some amazing reels at a discount. I've found some amazing deals on rods as well, but sometimes buying on sale new is a good idea because of the warranty.
  6. Does braid absorb water? I'm wondering if so then wouldn't it sink after a few casts?
  7. Welcome.
  8. I don't know about mastering it, but it took me a few months to gain some skill and confidence.
  9. I like using weightless senkos and fat ikas for submerged grass.
  10. Has anyone ever used senkos for reds?
  11. I stuck myself with a crank bait once a few years ago. The treble was buried in my thumb. I took my fishing pliers and pulled it out and I still remember the pop it made...ouch. If it happens again I'll use the braided line around the hook and push down method.
  12. I was able to tie the FG perfectly once. The other 2 attempts were not successful. I like the looks of it and it is a slimmer knot, but it is a pain.
  13. For braid to fluoro/mono I prefer the alberto, but for joining mono to fluoro I use the double uni knot.
  14. I'm going to murrells inlet in south carolina. I'm taking my kayak and a boat. What baits should I use? I've never caught a redfish on an artificial. I've only had luck with live shrimp, but the pinfish are a pain so I want to try some soft plastics. I had success catching flounder on gulp jerk shads, but no reds. Any advice?
  15. Gulp jerk shads on a 1/4oz jighead.
  16. In the river: senkos and grub/jighead. In lakes: senko and fat ika
  17. 50lb power pro should do the trick.
  18. I'd get the MH ghost for t rigs and frogs and use your ugly stik for cranks.
  19. Thanks for reposting.
  20. I don't think bass know what humans smell like. The only things I try to avoid is getting chemicals like gasoline or oil scents. I pre-rig a lot of the rods in the morning and fish them all day with no issues.
  21. I can't tell a difference between 80 and 90mm handles. I suppose if I had a choice I'd opt for 90mm, but I also like smaller circles. The only technique I would need the extra leverage of a longer handle is deep cranking.
  22. I like a good tip for casting and walking the frog with a strong back bone to bury the hook and get them out of the slop. I use a megabass xx perfect pitch which is 7'2".
  23. The 6'6" medium would be a great jerkbait/top water. The 6'5" mh might be a good frog or dock skipping rod.
