Funny thing is, Santana turned down the qualifying offer from the Royals which was $14.1 million. He signed a 1 year deal with the Braves worth $14 million I believe. It is such a shame about Medlen and Beachy, because they are both so good, and the Braves starting 5 was going to be lethal this year. But you take that draft pick, because it was worth it. I'm definitely not skimming a 2 pound fish across the top of the water with 65 lb braid. With the gear I use, I have it so the fish is able to fight. I don't just stop reeling for the sake if the fight. I have a balance between my gear and the size of the fish I'm planning on catching, so that I can try to get the fish in quickly but still have a fight.

I guess there aren't many options to get "fresh" seafood when you live in the Midwest lol.

A good way to tell is to look at the head of the bass compared to the persons hand. The bass in my avatar is 20"+ and 5lbs+ and you can tell it's not small by looking at the size of its head.

I don't believe there is such a thing as fishing for "too long" lol. I'll stay out there all day/night. I'm always up for a little night fishing, especially if the fish were biting during the day. Don't have to share the water or worry about the fish getting spooked. And it's extremely productive. Had my best day last year at night.

I caught a bass with a hook sticking out of the side of its jaw. Just a single red hook and it was completely healed over so it had been there a while. The hook wasn't rusted at all.
