The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
@AlabamaSpothunter what do you know, they got a win! Monkey’s off their back. Glad they didn’t spoil Schwellenbach’s gem and maybe that hit barrage gave them a little confidence again. Hopefully they can at least make a push.

Proud moment for any fisherman
As someone who is very appreciative to who got me into fishing, I love this.

Hello, Cherie!
That sure is a nice bit of country you have. And it won’t be long until you’re posting 50 fish days!

What is the longest you would keep unopened line (mono/fluro) before disposing?
I have spools of Big Game and Trilene XL that are over a decade old and stored in my basement. It’s still as good as new. No brittleness or yellowing. Still supple and stretchy.

Im lucky to have some of the most beautiful scenery in the world so close to where I live. The Adirondack Mountains. No place I’d rather be.

Turtles while pond fishing how to avoid them snagin lure
Interesting. I fish lakes loaded with snappers, painted turtles and box turtles and I’ve never had one even attempt to grab a lure. Generally they act like it’s not even there. Live bait is a different story but I’ve never had a turtle even attempt to go after an artificial lure. What kind of turtles are these?

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
@throttleplate it was silly to have let Burnes walk. Charlie Morton though will show up in big games and he’s a horse. He can eat up a lot of innings to save the pen. As a Braves fan I miss him dearly!

MLF Redcrest at Guntersville
Was only able to catch a few glimpses of it today. Looked to be fairly calm out there. Hopefully I have more time to watch tomorrow.

How many times do you try the same pond
Ponds, like any body of water can fish entirely different from day to day, season to season, and even hour to hour. It would take a lot more than one outing to make me give up on a lake or pond, especially if its a good looking spot.

Question about my Ugly Stik GX2
The oft-overlooked downside of braid. Unless it’s 100% taut, it signals nothing back to the operator.

Scott Martin dq'd again? Martin Withdraws From Elite Series
Listening to Ish Monroe on Mercer’s podcast was absolutely mind-numbing. He was advocating hard for greatly expanding the use of polygraph tests andt to start handing out life time bans when people fail them.

Weather
In my opinion and experience, the effects of weather events such as cold fronts on bass are overstated.

Santee Lake. I think they found the body.
Had a buddy who moved to Georgia years ago who also spent some time in Florida. He always said the same thing. He described Georgia as “swampier”.

Gear ration for lipless crankbait
I use a 6 or 7:1. With a lipless I’m using the rod to move the bait more than the reel, so I want something to pick up slack quick. But on the occasion when I’m not yo-yoing the bait, a 6:1 will help me slow down a little bit. I’m fine with either ratio for lipless cranks.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Apparently players have been using them since last year. That Yankee game really put them on the forefront. I’m fine with any piece of lumber that gets the Braves to start hitting. Apparently they put in an order for some. 1 run in 29 innings, I don’t even know if an aluminum bat would help.

Closed Face Spincast Reels - Any Good For Bass Fishing?
The braid ain’t for the fish. The braid is for where they live!

Happy Birthday
Now that is an awesome birthday.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Well the Braves are 0-4 and their only decent offseason signing was just suspended for 80 games for PED use. What a great start for Atlanta. Oops, right as I finish this post, their #2 SP goes down with a shoulder injury. Oooooh boy!

Post a photo a day!
One of them kinda evenings. First one of the year. This March has been decidedly lamb-ish, and I’m even grilling before April. Feels good after a long, cold, snowy winter.

Line conditioner questions
@JHoss no idea how it works but I’ve never noticed my line weakening and I’ve been using it for a decade. If it has an odor, it isn’t perceptible to me and it seems like it isn’t to the fish either. It isn’t greasy, it’s the consistency of water for the most part. Doesn’t have a downside that I’ve found yet.

Line conditioner questions
I use it on all fluorocarbon, nylon, and hybrid lines. It does make a noticeable difference making the line slicker and reducing its memory. For me it’s a non-negotiable, in the same way having sharp hooks is. Gotta have my hooks sharpened and my lines conditioned. Always KVD L&L for the brand. I’ve heard people using it on braid with similar results but when I’ve tried it I never noticed a difference so I don’t really apply it to braid anymore.
