  1. @Chris Cavanaugh he must have put the buzzbait down the previous cast, because he had just mentioned how he was using a buzzbait again and the booth guys commented on it as well. Man that was wild.
  2. Lawrence with a 3+ on the last cast with a buzzbait! He boated it with about 17 seconds left.
  3. Wow! Wheeler with the lead!
  4. Man this is down to the wire. Half a scorable fish separates Wheeler and Lawrence. Wheeler was down by 16 at one point. You can never count him out. Hes impressive.
  5. I use Okeechobee Craw chunk trailers from NetBait. My favorite color trailer for when I’m flipping a jig in clear water.
  6. Nice catchin, and nice report!
  7. Been good for 30 minutes or so now. It was probably on my end
  8. I’d love to be able to watch more than 45 seconds without AirPlay cutting out.
  9. Adopted this old girl 14 years ago today, when I was just a dumb 19 year-old kid moving out of my parents house. Went to the shelter, fell in love with her at first sight, busted her outta that joint, and here we are 14 years later. Couldn’t ask for a better dog. She’ll be 16 years old this fall.
  10. @TnRiver46 but JJ Reddick keeps telling me Bronny is gonna be a star!
  11. I’ve found that attitude is the number 1 contributor to a slump.
  12. Nothing like floatin down a river catching em nonstop.
  13. It’s no secret that wind can make the fish bite better, but it can make it more difficult to present your bait effectively. It’s a balancing act. A windblown point may hold a greater concentration of fish than a protected cove, but if you can’t present your bait to the point fish because of the wind, it may not increase your catch rate from fishing around less fish in the cove but you’re able to get the bait to the fish effectively. I’m always looking to increase my skill in the wind. The last several years I’ve made it a point to not head for that protected cove and maybe try to withstand the wind on the main lake a little more. I love the wind at my back, especially when I’m using a spinnerbait. When those blades catch the wind, you can make absolute bomb casts. Great for covering a flat.
  14. @Pat Brown yeah they certainly aren’t the most durable. The Paca craws are a great flippin bait too, but they are very fragile and the body is hollow so even if you don’t catch any fish, after enough casts the craw starts to slip off the hook and the body tears and flies off on a pitch. I’ve gotten away from other NetBait baits but the Paca Chunk for a jig trailer still slays em for me. The packs I have are several years old at this point so I hope when I have to restock they are the same quality. Sounds like that may not be the case though.
  15. I guess I am in the minority, but I now normally prefer a chunk-style trailer with minimal action all year round. NetBait Paca chunk is my most used, because it has a very subtle action. Looks more natural in the water to me. Fish like this seem to love it
  16. If you fish water more towards the clear end of the spectrum, polarized glasses can open up a whole new underwater world for the wearer. Especially during the spring time when a lot of fish are up in shallow water. I highly recommend polarized glasses, especially if you fish from a boat.
  17. The little river smallies around here love em.
  18. Beautiful smallie. Im green with envy. Or maybe I should say I’m “bronze” with envy?
  19. If you don’t count the first 7 games, the Braves are 13-8. Still trending in the right direction. 8-2 over their last 10. Like I said, they’re gonna keep me hopeful all year.
  20. I’m all about the Rage Swimmers.
  21. Fished a mountain lake shortly after sunrise for about 5 hours. Water temps ranged from 54°-58° and the air temperature is up to 75° today. The water was clearer than I’ve ever seen it at this lake, with a calm surface I could make out objects on the bottom 16’ down easily. The loons were calling, the trout were rising, and the eagles were soaring….but the bass weren’t really biting. I was able to grind out a few with a wacky rig and a Skitterwalk. The Skitterwalk was getting attacked repeatedly but nothing was getting hooked and I couldn’t figure out a cadence that made them commit. Only stuck one dink. I’ve had a lot of time to get out since ice-out, and fish are definitely coming to the boat, but the big girls have eluded me thus far. It’s still April, and some years the lakes are still frozen at this time, so I need to be patient. Just happy to be fishing. My thumb has been shredded for a couple weeks now
  22. Fresh stockers usually will school up, and are extremely easy to catch. I find large schools of them cruising in shallow-ish water. They aren’t weary of humans anywhere near the degree that wild trout are. Stockers will readily bite nightcrawlers, inline spinners, dry flies, and some people even use dog food as hatchery trout are fed pellets not too dissimilar from dog food kibble. I would use a peice of the dough just like a peice of night crawler on a small hook, under a slip bobber. Throw out the small inline spinner while the dough sits. If there are stockers in the area, you will see them all following the spinner.
  23. And they have zero rim protection. Jaxson Hayes played a total of 5 minutes, every other minute a Laker’s player logged was by a wing.
  24. Insane finish at Intuit Dome last night. Doesn’t really get much more insane.
