JDM Tackle: Where do you go?
Im jealous, would love to walk in there, I follow their social media and looks amazing. I do plan on ordering some things from them so, it may not be local to me, but I always support local/small businesses.

JDM Tackle: Where do you go?
A lot of great responses, appreciate it all! Ichibantackle is one I did not check out yet and I remember actually hearing about this one but must have forgotten to check it out. Asian Portal I have actually ordered a scorpion mgl which is currently in transit as we speak so definitely excited for that. Thehookuptackle has great overall selection on gear, just felt like it was more on the megabass side of things but I do see some other options as well. Look at that, youre in Rochester, only about 1.5 hours away lol. My sister used to live there and used to love going to visit. Beautiful area.

JDM Tackle: Where do you go?
Been really into this JDM stuff lately and Im in search of a good place to order lures from, however, the handful of sites I looked at are just so painful to navigate and mostly out of stock gear. I wanted to pick at some brains here and see where you guys pick up your JDM tackle and if there is any distributors in the US that have a great selection. I know The Hook Up Tackle in AZ carries JDM but seems to be more on the Megabass brand. Looking for more than just Megabass. All insight and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Braid on carbonlite rods
I have carbonlites that ive been using since they first came out, with braid and have no guide damage and still work fantastic.
-
Johnny Morris Rods
I have 5 Carbonlites, 4 first gen and 1 2nd gen, they are my fav to use out of all the other rods I own. Im actually looking for more to add if I find anyone selling for a good price.

How heavy should I go
Yes and to be honest, I never felt the need to use higher than 50#. I fish some HEAVY cover at times and I dont hold back on slamming that hook set and ripping them out of that cover. I have never broken off, EVER. Plus that lighter line allows for further casts!

What pound backing for Fluoro

Can you flip/pitch with spinning tackle?
Yes you totally could!
-
What # test to use?
Get 8-10lb yozuri or as some suggested, 10lb braid with your choice of leader material! Cheers!

Topwater/Jerkbait Rod Setup
Do a quick search and you will be overwhelmed with the results you get! However, for me, I prefer a shorter rod for jerk/top baits with a shorter handle. 6'6'' - 7' is a good range. Shorter rods will also help make more accurate casts especially in tight spots. Medium/Fast to Medium/XFast is my go to for Power/Action. Good Luck!

How Many Setups is too many
i don't get the question, can't answer sorry!

Line for crankbait/spinnerbait set up
I use 15 FC for spinnerbaits, with Crankbaits I use a couple different kinds, 12-15lb FC or 10lb Yo zuri hybrid.

lure you refuse to lose
Lol, oooo man, probably not but I will look at them and see what I got, but most likely it would be too hard to sell. Crazy how much people are selling those for now.

lure you refuse to lose
I agree, My lures that look the worst, beatin beyond belief and look ugly, all catch more fish lol. I tie on a fresh one and nothing. I think im going to start scraping new lures till they look like they caught 20 bass then use them haha its all you really can do, just look at it! Funny you say this because i have a tackle box just of xcaliburs, bunch opened and some still in package. I love them too much!! I just look at them too lol

Spinning Rod?
For all 3 on one, for me I would go with something like 6'6"-7' M/F or even M/XF. Its tough cause usually ned/drop most like ML, with wacky most like M. Good luck and let us know what you decide! Great suggestion as well now that I read some of these posts!

Fishmas 2016
ahhh man, just so happen to come across this now, dang!!

Does more ball bearings in a reel = a smother reel?
Absolutely not, a lot of times those reels with a bunch of bearings use cheaper ones, not always but a lot of times. Shimano uses less bearings than a lot of companies and still are very smooth.

Mojo spinning 7'1" MF vs. 6'8" MXF...
Honestly you can't go wrong with either, I think the 3000 size be a better fit for the 7'1" but still would be fine for the 6'8". If it was me, I like the 6'8" MXF mainly cause I like how a MXF feels. I own a couple 6'8" MXF rods(BPS Carbonlites) and they get used more than any of my other spinning rods. But this really is a personal preference thing. The good news is, what you are debating between is perfect because you could really do anything on either rods. Pick one and regardless of your decision, I know you will be super happy with it. Good luck and let us know what you get, hey maybe a pic or 2 lol.

Number of turns for the improved clinch knot
I use improved clinch for every knot except when using braid or when tying on a flipping hook. I came up with this little guideline and it has never let me down and I fish many tournaments every year so I trust it. 17lb or heavier: 4 wraps 15lb or less: 5 wraps Never had issues with this little system. Let me know if you have any questions. Just read this post after I posted, amen! No need to wrap so many times in my opinion.

Revo mgx reviews
Out of all my reels that I own, my mgx is my absolute favorite. I love everything about it, casting, drag, feel, weight, just everything. I have fished it hard that past couple years and still looks new, still feels and functions as new. I can cast anything on it, weightless to some beefy plugs. You will understand once you start getting use out of them.

New Finesse Setup
Dobyns is definitely a great choice, if you are looking to spend that kind of money and you want a good finesse setup, i would go to the champions or champion extreme. These are more sensitive than the savvy. For braid to fluoro choice, 10-20# braid to 6-8# fluoro is what I would go with, so you are pretty much spot on with what you are thinking of getting. I like lighter line because the bait just works more natural and you really want that for finesse. Good luck bud!
