  1. No, this line is actually made by a different company than the white box, cant remember the original company but the new line is made by seaguar, level wound is technically better because the line is not lying over each other which keeps the line uniform and perfectly smooth. Seaguar is one of the most popular fluoro lines and also the company that invented fluoro. I believe the new kvd xps is replacing the old line.
  2. 6'6'' MF, abu rods indeed are stiffer than rated, medium feels more like a medium heavy in my opinion and i know most people will agree with that. I use to own 2 Villain rods, now i just have the 7'1'' MH Villain for jigging, i got rid of the 7'1'' M because it was just too stiff for what i wanted it for, which with the help of these guys on here, i ended up replacing it with a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'10" MF. If you can move up on price a little, check those out, they arm beautiful, they also make 2 piece which could be handy for traveling.
  3. Tatsu is in a whole different ball park that red label, its suppose to be amazing! Every aspect of Fluoro that people look into, its great in all. Just like roadwarrior said, its closest to perfect!
  4. Just a quick pick for now, will get better ones later and post in the Show Off Your Stuff thread
  5. Have not used it yet but I would say yes, it has just the right tip for good casting and seems to have good backbone, but maybe someone that has used it could chime in on this one.
  6. Yea im excited, should be paring it with a revo s mainly getting that cause i have some bass pro money. I do know that the BPS PQ is on sale right now so im still deciding on that. I wish bass pro sold Lews reels cause thats what I really want to try out. In the future who knows, maybe ill be a different rod for topwater around the mid 6 range and change the Fenwick to a spinnerbait or grub or whatever rod haha! Its very nice and glad i got it!
  7. Never tried it myself but from what i have read and heard from others, its suppose to be pretty amazing fluoro! Let me know how you like it when you test it out!
  8. WOW!!! Recieved the Fenwick Elite Tech 6'10"MF Casting in the mail yesterday, I pulled it out, inspected it and then just was staring at it and saying WOW! This rod is beautiful and feels absolutely PERFECT! I ordered this with the mind set that, if for some reason i dont like it, ill just return it because I had not idea what this thing was going to feel like or anything in person. Testing the tip and flex, it literally is exactly what im looking for in a rod for what im looking to do! I want to thank everyone that recommended this rod and for the couple of guys i spoke with in private messaging, there was a reason why I was recommended this rod from so many people and now i understand why! Although I still need to put a reel on it and fully test it out, im seeing great results coming my way! Will Post photos as soon as this is fully setup for some eye candy!!
  9. I see no difference, ive been using mouse and frogs for 5 years and get the same strikes on both. I carry a lot of different frogs and a couple different colored mouse on me at all times, they both work the same to me!
  10. yeah if it bothers you then just return it, because it will always bother you when your fishing and then a couple months down the road you will be wishing you returned it when you had the chance!
  11. When I put a frog rod together, it was almost 4 or 5 years ago, I didnt have much money at the time so i bought: BPS Carbonlite 7' MH F/ Quantum Code 7:1.1/ Sufix 50lb braid Crazy thing is, I never changed it, in the thickest and not so thick, i have horsed 4+lb bass with enough salad to feed an italian family with no worrying. It casts frogs so good and is just a perfect setup, dont get me wrong, I would love to have a newer rod and newer and nicer reel, but i have yet to have a reason to replace this setup, it just plain works perfect. Im throwing koppers/kvds/spros most of the time, have a bunch of others but koppers and kvd is my fav, will be trying the new lunker frog this year so hope it works good!
  12. Im a huge seaguar flouro guy, I have it on my crank rod, jig rod and finesse rod. I have been wanting to try Yo Zuri Hybrid, do any of you guys use it with topwater applications? Wondering how it preforms or just stick with mono as i always have?
  13. I use oil, grease catches things too much, but it also has its purpose so im not against it, I think grease would be better for gears
  14. Sounds like a good spinnerbait rod with those specs/line
  15. the old line is the white label stuff, the new one that just came out is yellow and purple i believe, that is seaguar made, should be better than previous
  16. Atm im using 12# abrazx on my crank rod, love it
  17. new line is made by seaguar, hands down my favorite abrazx/invizxx, just spooled my jig rod with the new bps line and seems to be great quality
  18. You think it will still cast those small rapala skitter pops?
  19. Skitter pops, I should clear the air here that most of my topwater is the chug bugs and spook jr, mostly, just want something that can still cast the skitters, so really i dont need the skitter to cast a mile, as long as it can cast and the chugbug/spook cast a mile, that is my goal, sorry i didnt state this earlier
  20. You are correct, i need to get ahold of a couple, Fenwick and denali will be a shot in the dark as i have no place near that has them to hold, I have held a *** 7 1 M that my cousin just got but have not casted it yet as we are covered in snow. I looked at the 6'9"MHF and was wondering if this rod is a bit stronger or less flex than the 610MF but still cast those tiny rapalas?
  21. Well im thinking I may possibly go with the fenwick Elite Tech, just want to hear if anyone has used or knows anything on the Mojo bass topwater rod(6'8"MXF)? Or if *** 6'7" MF is something worth thinking about too? I think those are the 3 im between/
