Stealing your name?
I agree.

Flippin' & Pitchin'
I think that is funny. When I practice in the backyard, my cat will chase the lure, and think it is a game. I usually pick out different targets and go to town. But I like the coffee cup idea.

Thanks To Everybody!!
Although I have not sent you any reels to be serviced, I have received some advice from you which was helpful. Quote from Jim Blair on Dec 24th, 2006, 8:32am: I also agree with Jim

6:3.1 gear ratio
Thats what I was thinking too. I have an Abu Garcia with the same gear ratio, that I use for flippin and pitching, but it gets so heavy after a while.

6:3.1 gear ratio
What would a reel with a gear ratio of 6:3.1 be good for? What would you use it for?

favorit food
For me an easier question would be what foods do I not like. If it is edible, I'll eat it. Except for anything that comes out of water. I don't eat seafood of any kind, including fish. Unless the fish is deep fried and batter dipped. And for those of you who want to quote me and say I don't know what I am missing by not eating seafood, don't bother. I do know what I am missing, and I am not interested. Thank you but no.

Let see a show of hands
I wanted to sit back until I felt it my turn to jump in on this thread. I too plan on making a name for myself in the fishing community by fishing to the best of my ability while at the same time learning and absorbing everything that I possibly can while advancing up through the ranks. I am 25 years old, and due to my wanting to pursue bass angling as a career, I don't think a wife will fit into my plans as of the moment. You never know though, things can change in an instant. I have lived out of my car before, and until I can make some money fishing, I am more than willing to make sacrifices to pursue my goal. I believe that a great angler can and should set up sponsors to pay for just about everything that you need, such as rods, reels, line, lures, plastics, a boat, a tow vehicle, entry fees, hotel and travel expenses etc... That is my goal I am just in the very beggining steps of achieving. At the time I am fishing with a local B.A.S.S. club, and when I am ready, I will begin to advance to higher levels such as tournaments that require an entry fee. The club I am in has alot of great anglers so I have some good competition for the 2007 season. Although unlikely for a couple years, I dream to advance through the ranks of the B.A.S.S. federation and make it to the Bassmaster Classic, and higher. Now with all that said, I have to see how I do, and advance only when I am ready, no jumping levels. I still have alot to learn as far as bass fishing goes, but hopefully I will be "in the money" events within 10 years from now. Maybe I should get Ike's book or video about making it pro in five years or less.

prescription sun glasses
The ones I got are just regular frames with the Transition lenses. Indoors they are like regular glasses, but when you go out into the sunlight, they "transition" into sunglasses. As far as a brand, they would be called "transitions". They are not fancy like the CDM's, but they are going to serve the purpose well.

prescription sun glasses
Sorry kb, I totally forgot about this thread. That happens ALOT. I went last Saturday and ordered me a pair of 100%UV protection Transitions glasses. They cost about $250.00. Is "UV protection" and "polarized" the same? I'm getting the grey lens. I'm lucky that my prescription has not changed since my last pair of glasses, so if I only want to use them for fishing, I can.

LureCraft molds
This most likely does not qualify as "good" info, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway. I was looking into starting to pour my own plastics, and Lure craft was the first company that I had looked into. Most molds that they sell in there catalog are 1 sided, meaning that one side of the plastic bait will be flat. Might be common sense that that is the case, but it took me a few times of looking at the plastics before I relised it. I wouldn't want a flat sided senko type plastic. My advice is not to buy a mold that is one sided, when you are thinking your getting a 2 sided plastic mold. Just a bit of food for thought.

Why the Pros don't use nets
From what I understand and I could be wrong, but I understand that B.A.S.S. doesn't permit the use of nets because anglers were netting the fish when they were yards away from the boat. Usually when a fish sees you, and/or the boat they get into that flight or fight mode, and do everything they can to get off that hook. So when you'd net them say 15 feet away from the boat, you have a better chance of not loosing the bass. Once it caught on, a few people cried foul and B.A.S.S. banned the use of nets all together. Now as far as flipping the fish into the boat, I see nothing wrong with it.....when they catch the fish by grabbing the line above the fish, before it has the chance to smack onto the boat.

bassmasta07, Click on the link that Marty put up in the first post. Once the page loads, scroll half way down the page until you see the part about becoming a pro. Click on those links and read up. After you read those articles, scroll down the FAQ page a bit more and read up on sponsorships. There are many ways to become a pro, and many ways to aquire sponsorships. Read up! I've been learning for two years now, and I still don't have all the facts. The answer is to vast to list all the ways here, read the articles to get a better idea.
