  1. Thats good stuff. I think yesterday the record was beat from previously, and then tonight beat yesterdays record. I was thinking we should set up a date and time and all the active members get on the forums and try to blow the most members online record sky high. But with all the different timezones, and the fact that most of us have different schedules would make it tough.
  2. Welcome to the forum!
  3. Hows that for creepy? Andy Warhol would love it though
  4. For sure, I have been buying too much in the fleamarket section lately. Although I don't pass the deals up. I am the one who jumps on them knowing they will be gone in a flash.
  5. A buddy let me borrow his Smartcast. It is pretty cool for how small it is. It is best used to find structure. The pixel count is very low, so I would suggest getting the full size screen for the higher price. It will make a huge difference when trying to decifer weeds and rocks.
  6. As usual, I am the odd one. My goto is black. I have caught bass on it in just about all conditions. But then again, I throw the black more than any other color. I have never caught a bass on any other color spinnerbait than black, even though I do throw other colors.
  7. Sorry to highjack the thread, but I have one quick question. Does Bill Muphys book talk primarily about trophy hunting?
  8. I have the tennesee shad color. It was one of the first bass lures I ever bought. Thrown it alot, and have yet to catch a fish on it. One thing I was disappointed with though was the fact that the paint cracked all up and down the lure. I have no idea why but I think it had a small hole and water got into the whole and expanded the wood. But that is just a theory. I have alot of prop baits and catch very few fish on them. Something to work on this year I guess.
  9. http://bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching_fishing.html Check out the link. It goes to an article written by Iaconelli about flipping and pitching. At the bottom of the article there are more links on flippin. *edit* It helps when you read the whole post. Sorry about that.
  10. Just a quick question: How does one get a scale certified?
  11. On occasion in nature, genetic mutations occur. And under the perfect conditions they can flourish. I think that Perry's bass was one of those mutations. Pa's state record is 11lbs some odd ounces and I know of a bass that was caught that weighed in at 13lbs some odd ounces in Pa. I beleive the mutations occur more than most relize but they are just as smart as any other lunker bass, and therefore alot harder to catch than their more agressive younger kin. And alot of the big bass go unreported as well.
  12. I agree with LFL. I got my biggest bass last year on a pop-r. The bass jumped clean out of the water, missed, and then went after the lure again and got it the second time around. It is one of those moments that makes your heart stop and jump up into your throat. A good topwater strike is truely a thing of beauty.
  13. Over the past few days there have been a couple reports of abuse to kids here in the Pittsburgh area. One was a woman who put her baby into an oven and lit the oven. Someone interviened and the baby was not killed, but did suffer burns from the ordeal. The other was a young mom who called the police with a missing child report. After searching the apartment the police found the child inside a box in the closet with a bag over her head. Allegedly the mother and/or others in the apartment at the time suffocated the girl. Very very sad. Unexcusable as well
  14. Glad to see your back in the game Avid! Just becareful not to hurt yourself before your all healed up.
  15. If I am going on asthetics alone, I would also say Lucky Craft. I like they appearance of all their lures. I have one Lucky Craft lure, a Pointer 78 in Nishiki. I have never thrown it in the water once yet. In fact I had a heck of a time just taking it out of the package. ;D For quality and consistancy I prefer companies that could be classified as "home based". I find that the smaller companies such as Whittlers crankbaits, Bass Hunters custom crankbaits, Cache Custom lures, Brovarney baits, and B & L Baits have great quality lures and plastics. Better than alot of "big name" companies. I think that can be attributed to the fact that they only make so many lures at once, so quality control is better than some of the national brand lures. Just my 2cents though.
  16. Welcome to the forum! ] I'm here for entertainment purposes only.
  17. That is a pretty interesting site too. Lots of stuff to get your mind working.
  18. Wow! That thing would take one swipe at your head and tear it right off!
  19. Welcome to the forum! This is the best forum there is, so you won't have to look any farther.
  20. Goodbye Mr. Cowher
  21. two words:Navionics chips Get yourself a good graph, and you can buy chips for lakes all over the country for the unit. Most if not all pro anglers use the chips from what I understand. Much easier than the paper maps, and you don't have to download stuff from your puter. Just load the chip and go.
  22. Great post folks! I am definatley archiving this one for future reference. I'm with Burley, please define primary and secondary points. I have an idea, but not positive. Thanks
  23. Welcome to the forum Peter! Target the structure with the weeds on it.
  24. Why does it always seems so obvious once you find out what the acronymn stands for? The shirt already looks perdy, I just want to personalize it.
