This or That?
Pro--but only because a buddy plays for the Flyer's. If anyone saw the show on V.S. called "Holy #$!@", and happened to catch the show where they showed the top 10 worst hits in hockey, he got the #1 worst hockey hit of 2006. Laugh with the sinners, or cry with the saints?

Do not buy this split ring plier guys.
I got a pair of the Rapala SRP's for $15.00 bucks. They are worth it IMO. Very tough and durable. I have used them for alot more than split rings and removing fish hooks, and they are holding up great.

Whats your opinion of the Bass Fishing Matrix
I almost bought one while back too. Save your money, and study. Don't depend on a book to tell you what to use. Figure it out for yourself. It is easier than you think.

Mosquito repellent (not for the squeemish)
Nasty!--And I didn't even see the video, just the posts. My cat had one of those things in her neck, right where your adam's apple is. It was nasty nasty eww nasty! If anyone read my post about phobia's, I would cut my arm off to get rid of one of those things. Eww, gives me chills just thinking about it. We got a dropper and a capful of peroxide and dropped it into the little hole in the cat's neck. The worm died and we couldn't get it out (remember it was a cat). After a couple days were the hole didn't close, we took her to the vet to get her fixed up. The vet said there was muscle damage, but she'd be ok other than that. I still don't notice any muscle damage that the vet claimed. Doesn't seem to bother the cat in the least as she does a back flip after back flip trying to get the lure when I'm out in the yard flippin and pitchin. Where's Raul at?

STUN GUN ( Only a guy would do this )
I avoid anything that has the chance of shocking me. Electricity is one of the most mysterious forces on earth IMO. I have been shocked more times than I can remember, and it is NOT fun. Ok maybe a little, at first, but when you can see your body from what seems like a seat in the clouds, it isn't fun anymore. When I lived in the first apartment I ever had, my buddy used to carry a stun gun around with him and he always had it with him. One night during a party we all decide to shock the first person to pass out. It ended up being one of our good friends and I have never seen someone move so quick after a quick burst of electricity. He was in on it, so he wasn't too mad, just more shocked.

Megabass lures
Ahhhhhh! Don't matter to me though. The lure looks like a dead ringer for an American Shad patterned Lucky Craft, and at $2.50 each, you can't beat it.

Anybody Going to the Classic
You know, it is going to be funny the day I do meet Ike. I have talked to alot of people who are close to him in one way or another, asking them to pass on my name and email for an interview for this site. Still no answer, but he'll probably say something to the effect of "so your that guy who keeps bugging all my friends". ;D

Has this ever happened to you?
I feel the same way. If I do it, I know it is done properly without damage to the rod, reel, or the line itself. When they do it, you risk having any or all damaged, and if your lucky they just put it on wrong without damaging the reel or rod. It took me two times of getting the line stung for me at the store to relize those folks rarely have the slightest idea of the correct way to spool line onto a reel. I don't like other people touching my gear because it is MY gear, and even though it isn't top of the line, it is the best I can afford and I don't want someone else breaking it, or causing me more problems.

Megabass lures
I went to a show this weekend, and I got this puppy for $2.50. Pictures kinda crappy, but they are both stickbaits. Top pic is a Megabass lure, and the bottom is a Sugoi made by Yamamoto Bait Co. Im not at all familiar with foreign lures, I'm thinking that I got these so cheap because they are generic or something. I really don't know. I do know they look great! I got this lure for $3.50. I need help! Im a topwater junkie to the fullest extent.

Weather
I dont mind the snow at all, it's the 2 inches of ice I cleaned off my car this morning that worries me. Main roads were just wet and some slush. The secondary roads don't look as though they have even been touched. I gotta go home in a bit, and I gotta go up 3 steep, icey hills. I can't wait.

What was your best fishing deal?
I got a 16 foot 1983 Hydra Sport Bass Boat for free. That has been my best deal so far as for fishing stuff.

Should I, or no?
Im walking through a certain place the other day and I found an older looking, but it good shape, G-Loomis rod on a used rack for $30 bucks. The only ID at all on the rod, is on the reel seat, which says G-Loomis. There is nothing on the rod itself that gives any info about the rod. My question is would you believe this rod to be an early G-Loomis, or a hand-made/home-made custom rod? The rod is blue and is pretty plain, just the bare minimums. It doesn't have any decrative wraps. The rod itself is in good shape. No cracks, chips, or guide damage. Should I get it?

2007 Bassmaster Classic Contenders
This is the list I just got today. I wonder why they are different? :-/ Full Field Of 50 Set For Bassmaster Classic Baltimore, Md., 'Weekend Angler' Russell Colwell Grabs Last Spot for Bass Fishing's Biggest Event CELEBRATION, Fla. The full field is now set for professional bass fishing's most prestigious event, the 37th Bassmaster Classic, scheduled for Feb. 23-25 on Lay Lake near Birmingham, Ala. Fifty of the world's top bass anglers have earned their way into the Bassmaster Classic and will fish for a $500,000 first prize, a piece of the $1.2 million total payout. Most of the anglers qualified for the event based on their stellar performance in the Bassmaster Elite Series' 2006 season. Seven bass anglers earned Classic spots this month. Six anglers qualified through the BASS Federation Nation National Championship tournament, Jan. 17-19, in Gadsden, Ala on Lake Neely Henry. On Saturday, Russell Colwell of Baltimore, Md., won the ESPN Outdoors Bassmaster Series Championship in Guntersville, Ala., clinching the final spot. (An alphabetical list of qualifiers is below.) "This group of anglers will write another page in BASS' prestigious history," said Trip Weldon, BASS tournament director. "Birmingham provides a fantastic venue for the best anglers in the world." Under BASS rules, Lay Lake is off limits to Bassmaster Classic participants until the three-day pre-fish period, Feb. 13-15. After that, anglers will again have to stay away from the fishery until the official practice day, Feb. 21. Competition begins Feb 23. Take-off each morning is 7 a.m. from Paradise Point Marina near Columbiana, Ala. The daily Bassmaster Classic festivities, featuring the weigh-in of the 50 competitors, will begin at 3:00 p.m. Feb. 23-25 at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center. 2007 BASSMASTER CLASSIC FIELD Anglers Hometown 1 Michael Iaconelli Runnemede, N.J. 2 Steve Kennedy Auburn, Ala. 3 Kevin VanDam Kalamazoo, Mich. 4 Aaron Martens Leeds, Ala. 5 Dean Rojas Lake Havasu,Ariz. 6 Kevin Wirth Crestwood, Ky. 7 Skeet Reese Auburn, Calif. 8 Edwin Evers Mannsville, Okla. 9 Tommy Biffle Wagoner, Okla. 10 Kelly Jordon Mineola, Texas 11 Greg Hackney Gonzales, La. 12 Jason Quinn York, S.C. 13 Gerald Swindle Hayden, Ala. 14 Denny Brauer Camdenton, Mo. 15 Russ Lane Prattville, Ala. 16 Alton Jones Waco, Texas 17 John Murray Phoenix, Ariz. 18 Jared Lintner Arroyo Grande, Calif. 19 Peter Thliveros Jacksonville, Fla. 20 John Crews Jetersville, Va. 21 Matt Reed Madisonville, Texas 22 Mike McClelland Bella Vista, Ark. 23 Todd Faircloth Jasper, Texas 24 Randy Howell Springville, Ala. 25 Mike Wurm Hot Springs, Ark. 26 Bill Lowen Cincinnati, Ohio 27 Jeff Reynolds Platter, Okla. 28 Lee Bailey Boaz, Ala. 29 Mark Tucker St. Louis, Mo. 30 Timmy Horton Muscle Shoals, Ala. 31 Terry Scroggins Palatka, Fla. 32 Zell Rowland Montgomery, Texas 33 Jeff Kriet Ardmore, Okla. 34 Rick Clunn Ava, Mo. 35 Takahiro Omori Emory, Texas 36 Gary Klein Weatherford, Texas 37 Ishama Monroe Hughson, Calif. 38 Derek Remitz Hemphill, Texas 39 Sam Lashlee Camden, Tenn. 40 James Charlesworth St. Cloud, Fla. 41 James Niggemeyer Lindale, Texas 42 Tom Hamlin Lizella, Geor. 43 Boyd Duckett Demopolis, Ala. 44 Royce Dennington Barnsdall, Okla. 45 Brent Long Catawba, N. Fishin show or 30min infomercial?
That's business though. The bigger the industry gets, the more money the industry stands to make, as long as they pound it into your head that their product is the best for the job. Or if they can get a deal with a BIG name in the industry to promote the products. I laugh through Martins show too. I always look forward to his sun screen plug. I loose it when he stops fishing, grabs the sun screen and explains where to put it and how. And.... how he puts it on every few minutes. Funny stuff! ;D The worst part is, I have no clue what kind of sun screen he plugs. :-/

Friend Locked His Keys Inside Mercedes Today
I locked my keys in my car once. After that, I carry a spare key in my wallet. I have used the spare several times and would've been stuck without it.

Poison Ivy
.Tea-tree oil soap. My mom got me some for when I had some P.I. last summer. The stuff is amazing and borders on magical. Just take a shower with the soap and be sure to use heavily on affected areas. It takes away the itch as long as you don't scratch it "just for fun", it works like a miracle for me. And I think it helps the P.I. clear up too.

How Many Lures Do You Lose?
I think everyone has good days and bad days on the water. I can go fishing 10 times and not loose a single lure, but on that elventh trip to the lake, I loose 5 lures that day. I had one of those lure retreivers that BPS sells. Looks like a lure with the metal wire thing that slips over the line. I got one at a tackle shop and walked down to this river. First cast towrds a laydown in a creek channel, I got the crankbait snagged on a log. I hooked up the plug knocker and sent it down the line. To make a long story short, the knocker got stuck in the crotch of the tree and when I tried to release it, the whole knocker popped off the line and went straight to the bottom. So basically I paid six bucks for a 30ft piece of string. And I remember looking at the knot and thinking that I should re-tie it. But I didn't.

Spinnerbait with 2 skirts
If your worried about the skirts comming off, take a short length of braided fishing line and make several wraps around the band that holds the skirt to the spinnerbait head. Tie it off tight, and the skirt should stay on if you tie it properly.
