  1. I use standard j hooks weedless. Or 2/0 octopus depending on conditions. Noticed my hook sets on the j hooks is better to an extent.
  2. I always grab some stick-os, and I grab there rod socks. I also noticed there frogs are decent too.
  3. Re tie. Bass beat up your line I can retie in less than a minute. Especially when finesse fishing it's something extra for the bass to see. Hurts the action on some bats too.
  4. Size three off shanks weightless.
  5. I run my finger along the line to help pull it off, noticed it sticks more to braid than mono and Flouro
  6. Went out on honeoye today 7-5 caught over thirty fish on white spinnerbaits, spooks, and fishing holes in the weeds. Biggest was 3lbs, tons of 1-2 lbsers. Noticed the bigger end held the outside wrecking at about 9-12 feet deep, even caught a walleye on a senko
  7. Too water in a warm rain is awesome! Also fish don't mind getting wet. Try your luck as long as the acidity of the water ain't rising with the rain the bass tend to fire up. They kind of like the break up of the surface and a little lower light conditions. Spinnerbaits and too waters are my go to'a followed by senko style baits.
  8. I'm learning shaky heads and hoping it works!
  9. The op doesn't seem to go very much so I would suggest searching "how to catch fish" in the forum. A senko rigged Texas style works for sure. Just throw it in fan pattern let it sink to bottom raise your rod tip up real on slack and repeat.
  10. Turn and sweep not crank the rod or snap it fast just a kinda slow sweep to the left or right works for me. Something flexible with a parabolic bend.
  11. Best a all around lure to catch bass, go to is a Texas rigged anything. Creatures, worms, lizards craws, etc
  12. Shaky heads! Drop shots! Deep cranks! And morning top water! My three new favorite things I've been using a senko with great success too wacky rigging in ipenings of heavy grass or Texas rigged around lay downs and docks
  13. I got into the drop shotting, great for clear water and pressured lakes. I'm trying out the shaky head tomorrow for the first time.
  14. By flipping structure I mean lay downs drag jigs in 12 feet plus water and roll cranks by it, I live in nys and the water is 70-71 degrees on my lake and I'm having good luck doing this.
  15. Should already be in post spawn, water still cool look for structure and fish weed lines inside and out, early morning top water is a hit or late afternoon, also look for drop offs and deep runs like old river beds or creek changes that flow in or out try the mouth on the sides and also if the water is clear and pressured I would be willing to try a drop shot method or downsize and finesse fish, once the sun is shining bright or late in the day try flipping for docks and structure . Mark what depths you catch most of your fish and try that, if mostly dinks revert to shallow or deeper water. Slow down your presentations too once it gets later say 10 o clock on. My 2 cents.
  16. I got a pair of spiderwire performance glasses for 30 at Walmart and love them. People are amazed that they were only 30, quite similar to my old Maui Jim's
  17. Honeoye you're limited, I fish from a friends boat to my canoe, canandauigua lagoon I beat the bank and sometimes drag the canoe, when it becomes overgrown I'm going to get a kayak.
  18. I'm liking my bps tourney rods. 7' MH
  19. I went from a cheap baitcaster, (started getting frustrated with it) to one diawa tatula and now have 3
  20. The 29th...... Ouch you guys are going to make it more difficult lol
  21. I'm going in honeyoye on the ranger hopefully picking apart structure and flipping docks for tournament coming up with a friend
  22. Anyone willing to go out fishing this Wednesday? I'll be out in the Canandaigua lagoon or banking it at honeoye.
  23. I trim one side of the legs about 3/4 of an inch shorter too which helps in a walk the dog presentation or I can just bob like normal.
