Reviving this thread. Anyone brave the cold or the 60 degree days? I went on Canandaigua lake in the kayak and caught one smallmouth in a channel by the city pier guessing 9 feet deep. It was 55 degrees and sunny!

Helix 7 and garmin 7sv both have 7 inch screens, helix 7 si isn't linkable, garmin is, also helix 7 is $699 with SI and the the Garmin is $499. I almost bought 698 HD si but didn't like how unclear it was, the helix models were crystal clear, and so was the garmin. I'm thinking of getting a garmin unit but can't quite commit to buying a graph yet. I also heard you can't run charts on the unit, is this true? Cause if not I'm back into being indecisive.....also I think the garmin is linkable can't remember now....

It's all opinion. Are dish affected by sound yes, does it work, who knows. It doesn't hurt but as for a budgeted angler as myself, not worth it.

I like the net bait paca chunk it's basically a paca craw just more fitting for a jig I'm a huge netbait fan so I'm slightly biased =X

I like the idea of the power poles better, all the boats I've fished as a Co angler the power poles seem quite and I can find them cheaper.

I fished as a non boater for 2 years and basically either launched boats for people and ended up have 4 keys to vehicles or if they had shallow water anchors I would ask for the wireless controller and just drop then down to hold the boat, especially the guys who go way to fast backing in the water.

Like there plastics, there hard baits are pricey and I'll stick with strike king or rapala. Had the crank and don't like the wobble and got a popper from them it was OK just not the action I like.

Awesome think about a day to clean and rebuild?

Anyone ever rebuild the carbs? Or any experience with this motor, it won't idle for long and will stall out, making docking/ loading it a pain with a constantly stalling. New vro pump I put in and the problem was there before this. Thinking the carbs might be gummed up and the idle seems high. I've rebuilt my dirt bike carb but it was 4 stroke, could I tackle this on my own?

Hoping someone could tell me how to transfer way points off my bow unit to the driver unit if I get 2 helix 5 models, someone I thought said you just moved the card to console unit ?

Would you think that the average tournament angler would benefit for having sidescan or would down imaging suffice cause I only want DI for the front but want SI for the console...so torn weather or not to shell out the money.

I had my hummingbird 597 cdis stolen off my boat....literally in 20 mins of me helping a friend whose truck rolled after the ebrake failed on his manual truck. I normally lock and stowe them but once I saw his truck roll into the water past the door seams I had to help. Long story.... luckily his truck and boat are fine just a little wet. Anyways I got some money from my ins. And thinking about upgrading. Is side scan worth it? The helix isn't linkable but I want way point sharing and am on a slight budget due the holidays. Anybody got ideas?

Fished canandaigua, went into holiday harbor caught about 10 on 4 hours nothing big, biggest largemouth was 2 lbs maybe....oh well
