  1. I thought about this, and if it's a small lake with a lot of boats, I want to get to my spots fast. Since everyone knows the good ones such as conesus or keuka.
  2. I do alright in my 18 foot glass boat I picked up for 3500. 150 evinrude 55lbs motor guide and basic electronics, no DI or gps.
  3. I'm an Aaron martens fan as well, even though I'm gunning for hackney. I want him to win a classic.
  4. I have a 1990 nitro 17.5 weighs 1098lbs dry was wonder if it would work on my host as well. Cheaper than a real powerpole.
  5. I'm gonna either try honeoye, or the canal system between Cayuga and Seneca.
  6. Sounds like no spark. Loose wire, check your kills witch wires. I had one come loose and pulled a plug off and checked the spark, which there was none and sat four hours with a power probe and multi meter finally saw a a wire that ran to the kill switch and saw it was undone. Hooked it back up, started like a charm.
  7. I never use a leader, only for drop shotting....either straight braid, flouro, or mono. Drop shorting I use 20lbs braid to 12lbs flouro. Or finesse I drop to 8lbs flouro usually 4 feet of leader.
  8. I believe in couple colors. Green watermelon, baby bass, black and blue, red and black, watermelon with red flake, and maybe pumpkin. Same with jigs and t-rigs.
  9. Oooo I flip docks there, you can sometimes find decent off shore rock piles and good weeds. Hopefully the lake isn't in full bloom. My buddy loves that lake, and it's not a very deep spot. I'm not a big smallie guy I prefer the green pigs. But it is a good fishery
  10. I broke my top water reel and had one my girlfriend used in the boat and swapped reels on the rod for a zebco...caught 4lbser on it haha.
  11. Depends on water temps.....down south you might get an early shallow water bite or top water bite. Then go off shore. Up north I'm looking at weeds and flipping shoreline cover/structure. And always trying top water in the am. Maybe going after smallest deep but the thermocline where I live isn't very deep.
  12. September I find them thick in the weeds and early October I find them shallow. In NYS.
  13. yeah got good draw partners too, I'll be towing the rbm trailer up.
  14. you fishing chaumont?
  15. Supposed to be 5lbs, one smallie and one largemouth.
  16. Love punching matts, flipping grass, frogging, walking top water, poppers, jigs, senkos, shallow crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jerkbaits... least favorite is drop shotting and buzz baits ...
  17. Jaw spreader....the pike and pickerel annoy me, flipping grass on a day I lose probably 1 to 2 jigs a day swimming them or flipping.....
  18. Hmm so like 30lbs braid and 15lbs flouro leader and 3/0 worm hook?
  19. I had an idling issue, turned out the carbs were unbalanced on my Johnson evinrude 150. Also think my oil injection is to high but don't want to adjust for fear of leaning out*
  20. I've seen 16 foot trackers go for 3000. I would of sold for 2300 use the money to repair the boat you got and spend on a 3-3500 dollar boat, but if you got offered money it might be worth fixing. I like iboats, but boat means bust out another thousand. Lower unit seems expensive and you're going to have to balance out the carbs. Bilge pumps are cheap. I'd be wary of any wiring also, does the motor turn over? How is the compression test, you may have adopted a headache. But if you're OK with marathons then go vfor it!
  21. Any advice? Watched a guy boat 26 lbs out of Oneida lake doing this....
  22. Anybody got way points for chaumont bay? haha
  23. Fished a tourney at onieda, fished as a Co angler since I've never fished it before. First guy did his home work. He had structure and good weed beds marked, got a 5lbs bag. Sunday my boater had no idea what he was doing and I got skunked. He got skunked and it was bad experience,he ended up hurting his back and ran out of painkillers and pulled off the water at 1245...huge pressure on the lake too, one spot had 26 boats, the shoals and humps in the middle had 30+...

  25. Fished seneca lake for tournament on sunday, placed 3rd with 13.1. Rained all day, found some largemouth still on beds on Friday and marked them in the canal. came back to muddy water on sunday and a 2-3 degree temp reduction. 2 of my 4.5s were still on beds, and the rest were really shallow cover. 62 degree water temps. couldn't find anything on seneca as most of the guys who fished seneca got skunked. So I retreated to the canals and was able to together a pattern.
