  1. Wacky and weighted Texas rigged, I like to use a weedless hook fishing wacky in heavy cover in pockets for missed strikes on frogs or sight fishing.
  2. Nah Canandaigua lake in the back water lagoons.
  3. Went out today and had good luck frog fishing and pitching a creature bait, also a wacky rigged senko on weedless style hook. got these guys over the past couple days.
  4. I love my scatter raps.... Hope they stay a myth around me... Same with brush hogs
  5. yeah I heard of this, I went through atleast 6-10 senkos that day
  6. Are you on the bank?
  7. 7:1 was your problem I love mine on 6.4:1 only problem is the pike and rock bass love then too
  8. Throw some black and blue jigs and pitch to the shore line, if it's sunny they'll be around some cover, shallow docks lays downs, etc land that bait anywhere around 8-16 inches from that spot , if it's cold and windy good luck, I would try a little deeper water and slow but bright presentation. They would be holding tight to some cover slow rolling a bright crank or or red and black such as crawfish over underwater cover as logs rocks stc and go for a reaction bite. On the 6-12 foot range.
  9. Wacky rigged some senkos yesterday and not really liking this style it was deadly, I wasn't catching anything all day, so I found a shallow area along a main channel, and went caught atleast 6 2.5-3 lbs so then they shut off on the senkos hooked Texas weightless changed from watermelon to pumpkin they acted liked they were kids with candy , caught another 5-6 that way I love wacky rigging senkos now.
  10. Thanks guys for your input.
  11. So I know some people like to keep a fish here and there to eat and by all means if they abide by the laws and limits I could care less, I love perch and walleye. But you can't keep bass in nys till the second weekend in June( I think because of the late spawn due to our cold waters) and I happened to notice a guy fishing and keeping everything he caught such as blue gill, perch and caught a hefty 3-4lbs + bass using live bait then haul it into the bucket and pack up and leave... Should I have done something or said something? What are your thoughts? I wanted to to yell across the water way but I didn't want a confrontation.
  12. Since no motor boats are aloud on honeyoye and canandaugua lake all weekend due to high waters, I will be taking full advantage of the canoe
  13. The wind picked up a bit with a cold front moving in, so I decided to stay in, didn't want to have my line tangle in tree branch lol
  14. Is it a good idea to fish for bass at night yet? It's gonna be mid to high 50s tonight? water temp at 56. Thanks!
  15. If this is boughton I went there Wednesday afternoon and caught a couple 2-3 lbsers everything close to shore;
  16. Went down and walked the bank also , best day yet so far, caught a couple nice ones, one topping 4.7lbs, for some off reason i can't post pictures off my Iphone, anyone got an idea? I'd like to show them off.
  17. I ended up dragging a craw almost parallel to the shore dragging and hopping over lay downs, and added some Berkeley scent and had some of my best fishing, 12 lbs floro and t rigged craw, just slowly dragging it enough to get the havoc claws to flutter along the bottom, I could see the wakes of the bass shooting out from the shore line. Awesome.
  18. Hopefully Wednesday morning i try again, I'm not a big bed fisherman but if there cruising i try em. Definitely gonna finesse fish and use 12#floro
  19. I'm pretty limited where I fish at due to beating the bank, there starting to spawn in Canandaigua lake, up in the lagoon mostly still staging, serious case of lock jaw from them on Sunday.
  20. The my nitrous is a bait caster
  21. I'll have to try that. Thanks guys time to go more finesse and stealthier.
  22. I went out today to a lagoon that over flows from a major lake, (nys, water is about 56 degrees gin clear.) the area is highly preasurred lotta people fish out there but I got new equipment that I just had to try out. Any ways as I fished I saw numerous 2-4lbs swimming around and break offs of the lagoon, there is a heavy current that flows through the main channel due to record rains and flooding, but in these small extremely slow to dead water movement these bass just swam around and a lot of them had spots along the shore near lay downs and timber. And wouldn't move even if spooked. I tried creatures, craws, senkos, lipless cranks, scatter raps, flukes, and even a spook. The bass finally picked up my craw with Berkeley scent on it just by the tail swam 3 feet away spit it out and came back... The cruising bass just would stop and stare at the baits kinda follow than move on. The air temp was 60, partly cloudy and late afternoon.... And idea why no bites? Wednesday-Friday was heavy rains. Saturday mostly cloudy and little bit if sun, seems to be post cold front blue sky's fish not biting?
  23. Bought a new tatula today from bps and am in love, the reel is so smooth and the casting is so much farther. I used have a hard time using my quantum nitrous, cheap real from dicks, but finally got a nice one and it's like night and day I love it. Pair it up with cranking stick from bps as well. I love my diawa spinning gear, now I love there baitcasters as well. I almost got a revo but the diawa felt good in my hands.
  24. I picked up my tatula and I could see the difference but on the quantum nothing. It's just a cheap combo from dicks for 79.00. I think that's why, I touched the magnets to a piece of metal and it stuck so... Idk lol I'm out of answers. The adjuster goes in an out but there's no magnetic activity between the magnets and the spool.
  25. Not a difference made with the magnetic adjuster. Oh well
