Thanks guys. Great advice. Can't wait to get some more with these tips.

Catching Crank Fish Right At/under The Boat
I don't switch sides. That's something that I'm going to have to incorporate. I use pauses, jerks, speed changes, and irratic reeling sometimes. Thanks for the tip!

Catching Crank Fish Right At/under The Boat
I have been putting a lot more time into cranking this year, and it's been fantastic. Lately I've been throwing a rapala dt10 In firetiger, or orange craw at my home lake. Usually dredging a bit. I use a pretty erratic retrieve most of the time, but do change up frequently to see what the fish want. Recently most of my fish. Probably about 80% have been hitting the crank right when my lure starts to come up right under the boat. What does this mean and how can I take advantage of the situation? Are these fish following and hitting out of a reaction? Lake is 70 acres Fishing 3-10' depths 1-2' visibility High pressure Sunny weather

What's The Best Baitcasting Reel For Pitching And Flipping?
Sounds like it's been covered, but I'll rehash it. Your revo sx should be fine. I use a revo sx to pitch and it's been great. As well as a daiwa tatula. Even a lews. Like people are saying , it's not incredibly hard for a reel to do. You don't need to have some kind of "insta engage" if you buy a left hand reel. I'd recommend getting a 7:1 or higher speed reel. It makes it a bit quicker getting fish out of cover or getting your lure back for anther pitch. I've also found that braid tends to pitch a lot easier than fluoro, even though I use both. Hope that helps.

Yamamoto Crawdad On A Jig ?
I suppose it depends on how big the jigs are. I'm assuming you are talking about skirted jigs? Most all skirted jigs are fished with some type of craw trailer. Sometimes with a swimbait trailer depending on what the bass are eating and what color the jig is. All my jigs I rig with craw trailers. Usually either a berkly havoc pit boss in the 4" size and bite some off to make it fit the jig better, or some kind of strike king rage craw. I think these trailers are too big for the fish you are going for. Don't get me wrong, I catch small fish on decent size jigs (3/8th or 1/2 oz ) but you might be better off with something like a strike king bitsy bug jig as the small fish will most likely hit smaller jigs more often. Or maybe just use a ball Head jig or stand up jig with a small plastic and no skirt to cut down on the size of the bait to get more bites. Main thing is to keep the profile. Bit smaller when going for the little guys. I would try and fish a small 4" worm for the smaller guys

Rod Power (Weight) Vs Material Used In Terms Of Sensitivity?
I would go for the veritas hands down. Especially at that price! I paid $100 bucks for my mh veritas that i used. And I was happy with its performance. They are sensitive for that kind of money for sure. Most would use a mh for senkos anyways. At least for the 4" and up seems to be a common thing. You want enough power to set the hook on a decent size hook like a 4/0. Most people don't care a whole lot about sensitivity on senko rods because it's more about watching your semi slack line on the fall for any jumps. Since you want the senko to fall freely you will not have a very good connection to the bait, although fluorocarbon has the best slack line sensitivity. I'd say go with a medium heavy with maybe 12lb fluoro. Not to hate on ugly sticks, I hear their durability is great but I recently took a trip to my brothers house that lives in Oregon. I couldn't bring any rods with me due to the flight, so I used his medium ugly stick while I was there. It was incredibly frustrating. Not enough power to set a decent size hook. Terrible sensitivity. It felt more like a crankbait rod.

For 2Nd Rod Get A Ml Or Mh?
I'd say you could drop shot with your medium rod if you wanted to, but a medium light is preferred for that technique. You could also drop shot with a mh rod, you would just have to use heavier line and hooks, which is what you want to do if you are going to be fishing heavy cover where a fish is going to break you off. A medium light rod for your finesse techniques like dropshot, split shot, small weightless plastics. A medium heavy for your spinner baits, bigger crank baits, texas rigs and everything else. Getting a bait caster does have a learning curve. So be prepared for that if you go that way. Much better casting accuracy though.

Thinking About Buying A Kayak
I'm happy with my wilderness systems ride 115 but if I had the money I would get a hobie with mirage drive for sure. Being able to fish while controlling yourself is key. One of the most dificult things to do in a kayak is hold yourself against wind or current, mirage drive solves that. At a hefty price I might add

How Cost Effective Is Making Your Own Senko's?
Have you bought "mend it"? It will save you a ton of money on plastics. Fixes them very well.

Sigh… Still No Night Bass.
I chose to pack light like you flying monkey. All I brought was a scale, forceps, scissors, and my 7" ms slammer. Not even in a night color. Light rainbow.

Sigh… Still No Night Bass.
I went out with a friend. Snuck into our local park. I ended up landing three fish. Two three's and a four. But I was using braid with a broomstick of a rod and a ms slammer. So I was losing fish left and right. Prob lost about 10 fish total. It was excruciating. I need to save up for a larger reel with mono. Or a more moderate rod. My buddy, who I got into fishing got his personal best at five pounds fifteen ounces. On a spitting wa frog. His first topwater fish ever. And we have to hoist the fish up about 10' to the dock because the bank isn't accessible. An amazing night for sure.

Buying My First Baitcaster
I'm going to agree with ZB85 on the tatula. I just picked one up and it's pretty amazing for the value. I own a speed spool as well which has been amazing for the money. I prefer both those baitcasters to my revo sx which isn't a bad reel at all but not my favorite. As for rods, I have owned three veritas so far. Broken one. For 80 bucks it's going to be really hard to beat. I like the rods and use them all of the time. I'd agree in saying that they are rated lighter than their action actually is. But that being said I wouldn't say that the medium I own is a medium heavy, but it's close. The 13 rods are really nice. I haven't fished with one, but they seem higher quality than the veritas. They cost a bit more as well. I honestly think you would be happy with either. A $200 set up should perform pretty well regardless of your choice. You are on the right track. You might look into their warranties to seperate your choices a bit. Rods break, plain and simple. It would be a shame if one were to break once your college budget starts. Maybe consider a shimano compre, as their warranty seems to be awesome.

Anyone Score?

Best Way To Film Fishing?
I use a hero 3 silver edition. The white should be just fine for video. I have been using the jaws clamp when I'm on my boat or kayak, and the chest mount on ocation when I want to switch up angles. Chest mount is going to cost almost double to the head mount, and might only have the slight advantage that you can wear a hat if you are fishing, and that you will get more arms and rod/reel in the video which is an added bonus. I've never filmed on a loop before. What I usually do is film till I catch a fish, then start a new clip so I don't have to search through hours of footage to edit out the boring stuff. Good luck man.

Phenix M1 Or Powell Endurance
I'm going to mirror what everyone said about the hook keeper. Not only is it in a inconvenient location, but the keeper is tiny and barely holds on to my hooks. Now is that enough reason to get a Powell? That's up to you. The phenix is going to be more comfortable and a little less top heavy in my experience from handling them in my local shop. I like the powells and almost buy one every time I get a new rod. As for phenix, I own the 7'2 and it's been an amazing rod. Up until a week ago when I broke it a foot from the tip on a hookset. Having to pay $50 to replace it is t a huge deal but something I'm not happy about having to do. Now with that being said, I just bought a 7'8" mh phenix to go along with my heavy. I really like the rods, which is why I bought another. If it breaks again I might make the switch to a different company. I am pretty hard on my gear but the phenix just feels better in hand to me. I'd go for either one. I'm sure you'd be happy with either brand. My comment was not meant to discourage you from buying a phenix. But to share my experience.

Night Fishing Grand Lake, Ok
I'm not sure about your area specifically. I have just started night fishing recently and my fish have been coming off a black Picasso buzzbait rolled slowly on the surface. I like to throw parallel to the shore and across points. Buzz baits are a fun bait to throw, and the noise they put off helps you control the speed. Plus it sounds cool. As for other baits it seems like people like to use the following Topwater rats, jointed and usually made from wood. The knocking noise they produce seems to help call them in. People have really great luck with this bait in my local scene. Bladed jigs, chatterbaits, whatever you wanna call em' they put off good vibration and help the fish find them when sight isn't the main sense the bass is using. Usually with some kind of swimbait or paddle tail trailer. Larger wakebaits and swimbaits. People in my neck of the woods fish these often. Something like a hud 68 Creature baits, and large ribbon tail worms. Usually texas rigged with a bead to make some additional noise. Big single Colorado blade spinnerbaits. Usually colored black. Jigs, usually black with a beefy trailer. And hopefully a rattle Poppers. Basically you'll notice that all these presentations put off a lot of vibration for the fish to feel. Also they are all a larger presentation. Most people are going to throw black because it contrasts better at night. Also it seems slower is better to allow the fish to find your presentation. I like to repeatedly cast to a certain area as well to give the fish a better chance to find the lure. There are some great articles on here for night fishing, and some threads as well. Check them out.

Tips For Jig Fishing?
I liked watching Denny Brauers videos on YouTube. Also lakeforkguide and bassresource. Watch all their jig videos, there are plenty of them. I'm just learning to fish a jig as well but I started getting better when I would throw it all day and not pick up my confidence bait. Also I really like strike king rage craws on my jigs. They look crazy and have amazing action. Right now with the water temps in the low 70s I usually am flipping jigs near cover. I let the jig fall on a semi slack line. Line watching the whole time even though I usually feel the bite. Let the jig sit for 5-10 seconds and barely shake it. Then I double hop it and pause. Double hop and pause till I'm out of the strike zone.

Lookin For Rod Holder To Mount On Kayak
I use the ram mount products in the 1" size. Definitely strong enough for a rod. I also own the yakattack blackpak box which comes with three rod holders. I tend to prefer the rods behind me as they get in the way with paddling a little when mounted in front of me. Just my $0.2
