  1. I like the strike king swim jigs and I use the hack attack jig when I'm in thicker junk
  2. Lol love it out here...
  3. That's a nice frog! Is it a new PB?
  4. She is every bit of 5lbs or more, great bass! Congratulations
  5. Fish them anytime and bang them off any cover. You literally want the bait coming in contact with whatever your fishing like stumps, rip-rap, laydowns, grass, etc... You picked a good starting point, the square A is a great lure and its cheap enough you don't have to be afraid to lose em' Here's how I believe square bills work, http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/143817-how-squarebills-work/
  6. A pond is a pond and a lake is a lake.
  7. Yeesh 51 degree water already... The waters surface was 65° and by 2pm it was 70° here today.
  8. Thanks man, but I can't go fishing without the steelers hat.... Haha
  9. I think swim jigs are becoming a favorite for me... I've been killing them lately on em' Went out today and had one of the best days I've had in awhile.
  10. Lol I actually took your advice and eliminated all terminal tackle except the hook, used a bream that was about 3" with a circle hook, felt the strike, reeled up the slack, and firmly raised my rod. The hook got him perfectly in the corner of the mouth. Thanks for your advice A-jay
  11. I know a lot of people like Hawgtech's stuff, never used them myself but they are a sponsor so maybe you can check em out
  12. So I'm sitting there, its almost dark, and I'm about to give it up when WHAM! This guy starts taking line off my reel like its nobody's business, by far the best fight I've had with a freshwater fish. I love fishing for bowfin and this was awesome, don't know the weight but I do know he is the biggest I've caught. I know there are bigger ones in the spots I fish too, and I'll catch em soon! Had 50lb braid and a 14lb leader with my drag set at about 4-5 lbs and I still couldn't get him in very fast.
  13. Yeah I'm a little OCD about my line being neat and straight on my spool so sometimes I'll cast my lure out then strip of a few more yards of line and get it back on there tight and neat lol
  14. I like fishing with my grandpa but I'll fish with anyone as long as I know them, they aren't a jerk, and they have common sense...
  15. Your almost there! Hang in there man
  16. Hill street blues is a great show...
  17. I've always had good luck on chrome/blue back in any water clarity
  18. I'm just trying to say that square bills can and will work in deep water, not trying to disagree with the fact that they excell in shallow water.
  19. Well considering the places I normally fish are shallow, I'd call 8ft deep. But there are plenty of good squarebills that can get deep like the bomber fat free shad and the lucke strike freak. Those two cranks can get 14-20ft deep. Square bills are usually fished shallow because the cover they do best in is normally shallow, but I wouldn't say they are made only for shallow fishing.
  20. I don't get it, doesn't that mean your busy...
