  1. Nice! Top waters are always fun
  2. Pretty sure it could have been my PB waterstick...
  3. Surface water temp was 65 and it was partly cloudy with 5-10mph winds. Water was more clear than what it normally is (it was around 3-4ft or better). The fish seem to be around grass still but the areas with a mixture of timber and grass seem to be producing the best. Started the day with a 1/4oz black and blue SK swim jig and couldn't get a bite, I switched to a 3/8oz hack attack jig and swam it through some cypress trees with grass alittle slower and father down and started loading the boat. All the good fish were caught on a 3/8oz black and blue hack attack jig with a full sized watermelon red flake rage craw trailer. I was swimming it at a moderate speed with some pumps and pauses, ripping it out of grass occasionally. It was a great day!
  4. All my lipped crankbaits float... Some people fish suspending squarebills but I just don't like them. Jerkbaits I like when they suspend or just ever so slightly sink
  5. Looks like I might need to place a big order of rage craws.... Nice sale!
  6. I hooked a big ole bass that felt like a stump when I set the hook, upon further investigation after he threw the hook it was in fact a stump.
  7. I just hate when they make my square bills disappear like magic...
  8. Maybe try working a jig slow
  9. I like the SK structure jig, caught my PB on it too. I guess they could get away with making the hook a little longer...
  10. Its certainly not needed, but if you want the benefits of a shallow spool then go for it!
  11. Its all preference, I like fast reels (6.4:1 and up) for pretty much everything.
  12. Wow... Way to prove people wrong, You can buy quality gear at affordable prices that are built to last! Post like these are why Bass resource is amazing.
  13. Honestly I was surprised with the steelers offense, they played great. Now the defense... They could have been better.
  14. It should work fine, I throw a lot of top waters on fast action rods because IMO it makes it easier to work them. You can't catch them all and that fish may have just been a fluke, just make sure your drag is set correctly and your good to go! EDIT: BTW I don't think you need to swing for the fences when using treble hooks lures like hula poppers, just make sure you give it a good firm hookset.
  15. How bout dem steelers doe? #superbowlbound
  16. Doesn't sound flawed to me, pretty versatile rig. Should work for your needs fine
  17. I swear bass in our pond will jump out of the water after dragonflies that are hovering over the water... Call me crazy but its true!
  18. I don't drop shot alot but I know they will work in water that is shallow, and lots of people cast dropshots very effectively.
  19. Depends on a lot of things... Lately I've been starting with ethier a swim jig or squarebill depending on how active I feel the fish are.
  20. Yeesh, crazy good fish man!
  21. Lol after getting staph infection and ring worms from wrestling I try to be a little more careful when it comes to stuff like cleaning cuts...
  22. Haha guess I'm the weird one, I just don't want my fingers to fall off lol
  23. Kinda weird question but I'm just wondering if y'all clean your fingers and hands with alcohol or something after a good day of fishing? I always clean the cuts and scrapes on my hands and fingers from handling/lipping bass with alcohol after fishing...
