I believe its because if you close it by reeling then line gets put back on the spool loosely and eventually your gonna cast and get the mother of all bird nests, I also heard something about it wearing out springs in your reel or something but dunno how true that it...

Okay maybe lazy isn't the word, but I have a hard time reading cursive. Especially when it is rushed. I guess my reasoning behind calling it lazy is because she doesn't want to take the little bit of extra time it takes to right normal, it would be easier for every one in the class to understand. Schools didn't teach my generation how to write/read cursive.

There's a video on YouTube called "how to tie the albright knot with Aaron martens" it shows a good way to tie it, its how I do it and it makes it a very quick and easy simple knot when you get the hang of it.

If a rod has a manufacturing defect that's gonna cause it to break it'll break pretty quick, if you have the rod for months then it all the sudden snaps its most likely from something that you did wrong or the rod got damaged in some way.
