  1. Yes which brand reels are you using. The Daiwa MagForce-Z braking system is amazing. I never did like the magnetic braking systems on Abu Garcia reels and could never consistently cast with them.
  2. For me Chatterbaits = FRUSTRATION....lol
  3. It is just my personal preference. So for some it may not be a good choice but for me it is perfect. I just don't like the F or XF action rods. I have tried them and just don't care for them.
  4. Personal preference, because I like the Daiwa Regular action rods for jigs and soft Plastics. So all personal preference....
  5. I have not had any problems setting the hook fishing jigs with this rod. Just a quick little turn of the hips.
  6. I use Yamaha Blue Marine Grease, doesn't gum up.
  7. It is the rod that I use for those techniques and it is amazing. Light sensitive and balances very well with my Tatula Type-R.....
  8. Congratulations......Definitely post up some pics.
  9. Yes, you need some type of a jig trailer.
  10. Definitely would not want a graphite frame for frog fishing.....
  11. That would definitely improve my day.....
  12. WoW....they said they can't do anything. So not cool....I love Seaguar fishing line, but this could change things.
  13. Good luck....went thru this yesterday with grandson #3
  14. 50lbs would be fine...if you are fishing really heavy cover then I would use 65lbs. But if it isn't too thick and you are going to use it to fish other types of cover then 50lbs will work.
  15. I would consider thinning the skirt out a little and fishing it.
  16. My new fishing buddy....grandson number 3 Tony James, born today. 6lbs 7oz 19 3/4" length Should I start him with a bait caster or a spinning reel...lol
  17. I am really enjoying my Tatula rods. I have not fished that Fenwick, but I have fished the Aetos and they are amazing rods as well. I have looked at the Rage rods and just don't like the grip at all and they are tip heavy. *** *** Black is also another great rod.
  18. What is your price range?
  19. Don't let all the colors and sizes scare you. There are a couple really good stickies on the top of this page about jig fishing and some great videos on you tube as well. Glenn has some great ones.... For colors and sizes keep it simple.... Black and Blue Green Pumpkin Peanut Butter and Jelly For sizes.... 3/8 to 1/2 Oz I know some like to throw heavier jigs but these are the weights I prefer....
  20. I also fish Cavitron buzz Baits and never use a trailer hook and very rarely miss a fish....
  21. I would use a Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper or any type of swim bait soft plastic trailer and pull it either right over the top of the grass or try ripping it right thru the grass a couple of feet down.
  22. Black and blue swim jig and a all black buzz bait are 2 of my favorite night time fishing lures....
  23. Yes, a swim jig or a jig would work very well in that situation. I would start with a swim jig and just rip it thru the grass.
  24. I have the Tatula for shallow cranks and it is absolutely amazing.
